Key card charge limits question

What happens when you reach your charging limit on your key card? We will be staying at the BCV for 11 days and I know that we will reach the $1500 dollar limit as we pretty much charge everything to the room. Do I need to go to the front desk to charge my cc or will they do it when you reach a certain point? I would hate to try to use my key card and find out I reached my limit.

It's pretty much invisble to you. It hits $1500 and the charge is hit against your credit card and marked on your bill as a payment. You won't even notice as long as the credit card you have on file works.

I usually go and get a print out everyday or every other day as well just to make sure its all correct and I am not double charged for anything by accident. Sometimes if you have the dining plan they will charge your room and not take from your pool of dining credits.

Twice I had purchases denied for being at my limit.
What happened is that the CM called my resort and I had to give them the Ok to charge my card and reset my limit. Don't knwo why it wasn't automatic :confused3

This has not been my experience. When I have been at the limit and tried to purchase things (and this has happened a few times over the years), a cast memeber at the store where I am has called the resort. I have then had to authorize the resort to charge the credit card I put on file. I have then been able to immediately start charging again. The process has been pretty quick and painless, but it has not happened automatically.

The store or restaurant will tell you that you've reached your limit. If the CM is nice they will call for you but the last few trips we've gotten some not very nice CMs that refuse to call. They try to tell us we have to go to the front desk or that it's easier to do it at the front desk which is all a lie. They just haven't wanted to call. It's just a quick call to the hotel to say they can charge your credit card. I try every other day to check it and if it gets close I tell the front desk to go ahead and charge my credit card.

That was exactly how it worked when we were there couple weeks ago - once we hit our $1500 limit, the resort charge our credit card and it was marked as payment. We didn't have to check in with the front desk to make a payment or anything..pretty invisible process.

The same thing happened to us. It was charged automatically and the front desk left us a voicemail message to say they had done it.

I agree with the PP, when I check in I tell them to charge the card when it gets close to the $1500 mark. I do check about every other day to make sure that the charges are correct though. I keep pretty close tabs on it. Guess its my OCD kicking in!

When we hit our limit at MK, they sent us to Customer Service at front of park to take care of it. It was a bit of an inconvenience in the middle of our day.

You can specifically request when you want it to be charged also. We stay at the Poly and always have them process it at the $500 mark. We normally keep track of it on a daily basis and when we get close we either make a call or stop by guest services to have this done. Allows me to keep better track of everything! :)

1) It is automatic.
2) It is manual.
3) It is actually both.
4) All depends upon the CM.
5) If they catch it, the card is charged and the limit is reactivated.
6) If they don't catch it, you call the Front Desk when you get declined.
