When you create the plan of what your going to do, your sat at home in front of the telly. One thing I forgot was These Park Fatigue (TPF). By Friday we were all seriously suffering. Today schedule was supposed to be , all day at Hollywood Studios, diner at the Sci Fi Dine in and then straight to the Magic Kingdom (again!) for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).

I had decided the night before to scrub that and do something completely different (apart from the MNSSHP), so later today I still planned on going to the Sci Fi Dine in, as it was one of my favourite restaurants with a great atmosphere, and this was booked with an ADR for 2.40 in the afternoon, and then onto MNSSHP, but no major park.

We got up at 9.15, which is a late start for us. Un be known to us, the kids had already been for breakfast and were back, so me and the wife went. I had the breakfast pizza, which is the only bad meal I had at POP, the dough simply was not cooked, it was still grey in the middle, so I left it.

After breakfast we went to the Premium Outlets (I think), the one on Vineland Road. Again, the Americans love cars, and yet still not enough parking, 15 minutes just driving round to get a space. We visited the Timberland shop, Levi's store, got me a pair of 501's for 17 quid!

Back to POP to pick up some cash, then over to the Hollywood Studios, and it started to rain ….

It absolutely chucked it down. We waited next to the old fashioned garage, and made our way through the shops to the Sci Fi and dashed in.

Now I don’t want to be negative about a brilliant location for a restaurant, but the menu, really only had 6 main items, and they are not on roller skates anymore. Plus you do wish they would update the film, because everyone must have seen it so many times……

The food was okay, the ribs were no where near as good as the Rainforest but still okay. We left and it had stopped raining, we went on Aero Smith Rock and Roll coaster which was fun, (although the man on the pre show who comes into the main room and takes the guitar has been removed… cut backs at Disney?) and then it was off to Magic Kingdom.

You get back to the Magic Kingdom, and the Magic is still there, loads of people bustling about, everyone in a great mood, so many CM’s dressed up and pleased to see you, great themed areas of Halloween. We used our MNSSHP ticket, through the turnstile and we got the wrist band. Walked up main street and just for a change I went on Space Mountain, again and again ….. Kids did Buzz Light Year. At 7 you could start Trick or Treat, at the many areas around the park. We got a lot of candy, not the bag fills like some others have reported, but our 4 bags would eventually fill one.

Loads of Alice in Wonderland characters, and we queued up for the parade, and you need to be alert to ensure you don’t miss the headless horseman …. So cool.

Really good parade, but the best was yet to come. The fireworks and music behind the castle like Wishes was soooo much better than anything else. You paid extra for getting in and the fireworks were well worth it.

We also rode the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which in the dark was really really exciting fun. Overall a big thumbs up for MNSSHP. After we left the park, we drove to Hess (again) for pizza (again), a really cheap meal and lovely too. !

My biggest regret is we did not dress up for MNSSHP, but there’s always a next time….

Once again - thanks for another great trip report and photos!

MNSSHP sounds great and I can't wait to go - but have to wait another year. It's not really DH's thing so won't be going when we go in 10 days ( ) BUT DD is more than up for it so looks like I have a year to sort out a costume!

We loved MNSSHP too, your photos are great :goodvibes

great evening. I love the atmosphere of sci fi but just very ordinary food.

A great day - except the rain! Bargain on those Levi's! :thumbsup2

I love the last photo of the women dressed as the three fairies! :goodvibes

A good idea to revamp the plans when you needed a little break--and you still had fun. Yours is the best photo I've seen of the Headless Horseman. About dressing for Halloween--a couple of trips back, the Stringers, Churchills, and I dressed to the nines (the girls were fairies, one Good, one Punk), Tammy was a fabulous Cruella and Kevin was her henchman, Debbie was Sin-derella (scary sexy) and Matt was Fred Flintstone, and I was a gypsy fortune teller. We were all dramatically dressed with wigs, make-up and accesories. But we didn't go to MK where I'm sure we would have blended into the MNSSHP. We went to EPCOT and were the only people there in full costume. We got so many compliments from guests and CMS and I'm sure we appeared in many vacation photos and videos that weren't our own. People even asked to pose with us! We didn't get any Trick or Treat candy but we sure got a lot of attention.

The last time we attended MNSSHP the treats were def not as plentiful !

Lovely report and photos. I hate the rain in Orlando. The photo of the headless horseman was cool though I don't think the little girl on the left dressed in blue, sitting on her Mam's knee thinks so, she looks scared stiff.
