When writing these trip day reports, its amazing how quickly you forget what happened, luckily, I and my daughter each wrote our own diaries.
Today is the wifes birthday, so I gave her the present, Neil Diamond CD, and our daughter had kept all the cards from home too. Today is Blizzard Beach my least favourite water park, but still worth a visit.
So off around 8 am and today we went to Ponderosa for breakfast. First thing was it was still only $3.99, plus drink. I still could not believe how cheap, but I must admit, the food is only worth 3.99, compared to Golden Corral, it really is poor and my memory of it was obviously a lot better, it would be our last visit to Ponderosa.
We then motored on over to Blizzard Beach, and went through the obligatory entry and rope drop, something I was getting annoyed with already!.
In at 10, and it was deserted. After a quick dip, it was 2 rides on Team Boat Springs, ride on Run off Rapids, and then a chair lift up to Mount Gushmore, for the big blue raft ride. Still no queues at any of them.
Not really sure what it was but by 2 we had had enough. So we left. I find it too boring there, too many rides and a small pool area with a very limp wave machine. The ski lift is a nice addition, but as you all know the wait in high season can be 2 hours.
We went back to POP, for a rest and a change, and then made our way to Rainforest Café at Animal Kingdom, for which I made an ADR for the previous day.
AK shuts at 5.30, but we walked down to the front, and made our way in, making the ADR was a waste of time, as the place was practically deserted. Having said that we got fed very quickly. I had the Steak, Ribs and Shrimp platter, all for $26.99. It was and still is the best meal of the fortnight.
The whole bill, for 4 adult meals, with drink, tip (no starter) was $150.00.
The $200.00 per day allocation was working well, but we had not hit any shops yet. I expected something to happen as it was the wifes birthday, and the woman who lets you in, who is sat on the elephant stand even mentioned it but nothing happened.
So after a brilliant meal, it was off to MK again, this time for Spectromagic. We parked up, and for change we took the ferry, very nice and relaxing when your not desperate to get there in the morning.
We went in, I rode Space Mountain (Again!), and we ambled around the shops and then went a waited by the little pathway that goes from Frontier Land, to the Missippii Steam Boat. There were very few lining up, and we had a brilliant view.
Spectromagic, again does not fail to impress, but after an absence of 4 year, I suppose you would expect some of it to have been revamped, I was surprised how many of the old barges were still in use, still a great evening.
