Kevin, I was surprised that the demise of DISRadio was not discussed on the show.

Hookedonears,

You really need to stop posting messages that do not make you sound smart. Kevin the Genius does not run, own or pay for DisRadio....Also Pete holds no obligation to explain or ask for people's opinion on things that he owns and runs with his own money...Please think about stuff before you post.

Thanks

And please know who the Genius is before you post. :rotfl2:

What are you saying?

I think he just said you are no genius....I know a guy if you want to have him bumped.

Oh, and the track coming up at Daytona was also Kevin's fault. Next time do a better job of paving the speedway buddy!!!

Kevin, if you control Daytona, can you put an end to Nascar. My community doesn't like it and think it should go away. That is all.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

What community are you talking about? Are you part of the community around Michigan Intl. Speedway that gets lots and lots of tourist dollars from the NASCAR races each year?

On a local level, many racetracks are still the lifeblood of a community.

Why is my name part of the title of this thread?

I dont run own DisRadio.

I dont run DisRadio.

I dont pay for DisRadio.

I dont have anything to do with DisRadio..

But you are Samantha Brown's BFF, so surely you must have some pull with the media...:rotfl:

I think it was costing too much, but it also seems like the lack of discussion prior to its demise meant that he just didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to make it work.[/QUOTE]

And? :confused3

What if this is the reason? Who are you to say what Pete should spend his time on? I don't know a thing about maintaining DISRadio or what it takes to run it, but if it is a hassle, I'm at a loss as to why you seem to think Pete is under some obligation to continue it.

I will miss DISRadio, but Pete could have just said "I don't feel like running it anymore." and I would respect that. He doesn't owe me a thing, least of all a discussion about how he decides to run his business.

Why is my name part of the title of this thread

I guess it's because you are the most active on the podcast board, we often get a response from you (or Kathy to give her credit too) than any other podcast crew member. That is probably why it was aimed at you.

However it is sad, but it is just the way life goes. Thank you for what you do!

As a disappointed fan of DisRadio, Kevin I thought that you being a member of the Podcast team and being a team member that post consistently on this board, I thought that you might have a little insight into the situation. Obviously, I hit a nerve with this one. If you don't like your name associated with the Post, why don't you burn the book and remove the post.

There is a serious need for a sarcasm font. :rolleyes1

What they said ^^^^

I don't really know what is going on here, but someone has to chill. Why are you saying this to Kevin? He has nothing to do with this. If it is a private business, you have no say in what goes on. I run my own business, and if you said something like that to me , I would not be very happy.I will not say what I really would do. In this day and age things are changing in every aspect of life. The world is not the same today as it was even 5 years ago. Things get replaced. Sometimes that is good and sometimes , not so much, but you can't stop the world from going around..:confused3

2 comments.........whats done is done, further speculation is a waste...........and...............no need to defend Kevin, he is quite capable.

You don't play one on the show is all. ;)

Blah blah blah......

If you don't like NASCAR change the channel or move. ;) ;) ;)

There are many, many disappointed DISers that DISRadio has gone by the wayside. It seems that Pete should have come on the show and said at the end of the month it will end unless an alternative can be found like subscriptions, advertising etc. I think it was costing too much, but it also seems like the lack of discussion prior to its demise meant that he just didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to make it work.

As long as you are willing to share your thoughts...I'm willing to share mine.

I'm sorry that you are disappointed, but I think your posts come across as arrogant and entitled and more than a bit snarky.

Your posts dont ask for insight. They make assumptions, accusations and declarations.

I post consistently because I enjoy the camaraderie and community that has grown over the years. I share what I can, when I can. I feel I have been as open and honest and available as I can possibly be.

As for the last few sentences of your last post.....all I can say is that you have not hit a nerve. I'll explain again that I have nothing to do with DisRadio. Nothing, nada, zip.

As for burning the book and removing the post...I'll tell you the same thing I told the last poster. I'd much rather leave it up for everyone to see, so that they can things the way they are..

I've never listened to DisRadio but I'm upset that Kevin chose to shut it down! While I'm at it, I also don't appreciate him loosing my keys last week or making me have those two extra glasses of wine night before last! ;)

INTERVENTION!!

Sorry too much "How I met your mother"

So, if I am to understand this thread correctly, Kevin shut down DISRadio because he hates NASCAR and doesn't understand sarcasm? There was an attempt made to sell the station to Tony Stewart but some cleaning lady named Meg managed to screw up the deal. Any money saved from the closing of the station will be invested in a font that indicates sarcasm, I assume to help Kevin better understand it.

I hope I got that right, I am half Polish and sometimes it really shows.
