Kevin,

Have you heard anything about the Sushi Bar at the Poly? Seems like a great replacement for the coffee bar.

We were just talking about getting over there and trying it. As soon as we do it will be on the show.

I have mixed feelings about the coffee bar closing - it was good in theory but it seemed to never be open when we were there. I realize it was a 'morning' thing but it would have been nice to be able to get a good cup of coffee in the afternoon.

Maybe while you guys are there you could also do a NEW 'Ohana review. :lmao:

I don't think Sushi and Ohana go together do they? :) I'm actually pretty excited about the sushi bar. I know its only there for a trial basis, but I hope it stays perminantly.

I totally agree. We are staying down there in Sept and Kim and I are very excited about having a sushi bar in the resort. We love sushi and are really looking forward to this! :cool1:

The CLOSED THE COFFEE BAR??????? :scared1:

Are you kidding? I loved the coffee bar!!!! It was a great place to get a GOOD cup of coffee, which for some reason that I will never understand is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo elusive at WDW.

Couldn't they serve coffe AND sushi??? ;)

That's exactly how I feel too; the coffee bar was open only in the morning, but just sat there empty in the afternoon and evening. In my most humble of opinions, it was pretty useless besides being able to grab a cup of coffee for the parks or to people-watch in the lobby.

Just my $0.02... :)

I am still hoping for coffee around the world... all the places that don't serve nescafe.

there are more places than you think, though some of them are in Animal Kingdom... so Kevin would never go there. Boma and Jiko. The Swolen Phin, the wave, Kona Cafe, there is a place in the lobby of Contemporary... and that is what I can name off the top of my head. but I know I am missing more than a few.

The one at the Contemporary is still there? I thought I had heard it went away after the re-model. That one is actually one of my favorite hidden spots at WDW. I often stopped there in the afternoon to chat with the barista CM for a few minutes and re-charge with an actual enjoyable cup of joe before heading out to the bus stops off that lobby.

I like the places that aren't actually restaurants, but were just coffee bars. The one at Poly and the Contemporary one were my favorites.

Bummer, they are closing the coffee bar! It took me a long time to try the coffee there but once I did I loved it. It was so easy to stop, have coffee, and then hit the monorail for MK.

Me too. Too bad they couldn't leave up a small coffee area for the mornings.
I mean who eats sushi for breakfast?!

Maybe they will open a Coffee and Sushi bar? :lmao:

Coffee by day and sushi by night? :cool1:

I was reading on another site that the sushi bar is open from 5-10PM and it is adjacent to the coffee cafe. That site did not mention that the coffee was gone just seemed to indicate that the space was being used in evening. It is also on a trial basis right now.

I think this is actually a good idea. The space was not used after the morning, so they can be a sushi bar from noon to close. I know it sounds funny, but it might actually work. Then again, people will be really bummed if coffee grounds end up in their sushi rice. :rotfl:
