Keurig

I love the idea of the convenience of Keurig...and the elite at $88 on Bon Ton today is an exceptional value...
MIL has one & frankly I'm not a huge fan of the flavors...I've tried Newman's, Green Mountain, Gloria Jeans...just can't do it. (and tea is SO easy/good/cheap to make with a bag at home I could never justify those)
I am a coffee snob--I like Starbucks. I have never found another coffee shop whose coffee I like; I find them all too bitter. I prefer some of the hotel in room coffee pot coffees better than every coffee shop--except Starbucks basic blend...
Any ideas?

I've already posted on this thread and DH too is a huge coffee snob. I used to be but had to cut caffeine out of my diet so I don't drink as much because I have to drink decaf if I do. We buy Boca Java for him to make in his french press every morning. However when he comes home from work he usually wants a cup of coffee and though we love Starbucks because we have them close by, we prefer Caribou Coffee. We have some Caribou cafes here where we live but the closest one is a 20 minute drive away. If we're out and about in an area where there is a Caribou we will go there instead of Starbucks. I know I've seen the Caribou coffee K-Cups at Bed, Bath & Beyond and we buy ours in bulk at Costco. We really like it so you might try it and see what you think.

Love my Keurig! I get the variety packs of k-cups.

And then I also have "my k-cup" which is a re-usable filter that replaces the disposable cup.. so here in Utah we do not have dunkin donuts... so I buy the ground coffee scoop it in and Im ready to go. I also have done this with tea and it works like a dream!

I love the French Vanilla.

My children love the iced coffee. Here is a little hint on what I do with the iced coffee. I brew a cup of the coffee with sugar added when it cools some I put it in ice trays in the freezer. When they want some coffee they use 2 coffee cubes and 3 water cubes with a little milk and blend. Before they were not letting the coffee cool enough and they had melted iced coffee. Someone mentioned that I should try 2 coffee cubes, ice cream and a little milk (sounds yummy).

tried Newman's bold today==BLECH, SO bitter!
Green Mountain (is that right?) breakfast blend is OK & I tried a vanilla that is OK, too...they all just seem more acidic than when I brew a pot of Starbucks or even other brands.

We usually get ours at BB&B and today I stocked up with my 20% off everything coupon. We love the Chocolate glazed donut, blueberry coffee, vanilla iced coffee and there's a mocha that we love too.

QVC is going to have the Platinum one as their Today's Special Value all day on Sunday (starting Midnight Saturday night). I don't know what the price will be but they have their regular price listed as $129.99.

Tomorrow coffeewiz is having Black Friday hourly sales - I got an e-mail about it. It starts @ 8 AM and says:

You'll find K-Cups as low as $6, slashed brewer prices
and your favorite pod varieties for less than $3!!

I plan on checking it out throughout the day.

Thanks for the site! I was able to score quite a few boxes of coffee for a great price!! Thank you!!

I found it interesting that coffeewiz only lets you buy 1 box of the sale flavors at the discounted price- or am I missing something?

No that's how it was on their BF deals today, sadly. I only picked up 2 boxes and had hoped to stock up more, but oh well -- I didn't feel like hanging out there all day to see what was offered. And I got 50% off what I did buy - I think it was around $.35/K-cup which is a good price.

There was a K-Cup swap thread going here - I think it was on the Budget board. You might dig it up and offer to swap any you don't like for others - I did that with a DISer once an it worked out great. In fact, if I get my act together, I might do it again since I think I have quite a few flavored ones I don't really like.

Bold and Extra Bold are probably good for those who like Starbucks coffee (which you might, I don't know) -- from the Starbucks store. Those are the ones I like the best and my husband too - we like coffee that puts hair on your chest! :rotfl:
