Do you think it tatses "plasticky" or has a chemical taste? We got one for Xmas, and right away, I thought it tasted odd- kind of like drinking out of a new, plastic water bottle. That's the best way to describe it. I've bought a filter, but it makes no difference. I thought that after using it for awhile, the taste would go away (again, thinking it was because it was new- maybe the plastic decanter that holds the water). It hasn't. It isn't our water, either. I drink tap water all the time, and I use it in my drip coffee brewer, without a filter, and it tastes just fine. So, am I crazy?:confused3

Ours tastes fine.

No, it tastes fine.

When we first got it, I soaked the plastic part in soapy water for about 15 minutes, rinsed good, and then ran 2 full containers through the machine, to make sure I got all the production residue out of the machine. I also use bottled water, it's what the manufacturer recommends, since our water isn't filtered here.

I've never noticed a plastic taste with my Keurig.

Do you have a friend who has one? Maybe you could get her to make you a cup of coffee so you can see if you notice it with just your machine or everyone's.

YES, I agree...the first thing I made was hot chocolate and I could not drink it..very much so a plastic taste! However, my daughter uses it and doesn't think so. Maybe it's just our taste buds!! LOL!

Yes, ours was awful. Absolutely undrinkable. The whole house smelled like hot plastic. Call customer service--they've heard that complaint many times and know what to do. They told me to run several full reservoirs of plain water through it, one after the other. I did that and it took forever but mine has been fine ever since. From what I've heard, they will replace the machine if the problem doesn't go away. Some Keurigs have this problem and others don't.

Nope, mine is awesome!! I've had it for a year and a half and use it every day!

We've never had a problem and I'm extremely sensitive to off tastes in food/drink.

No plastic taste here.

I also did the warm soapy thing followed by running 2 full reservoirs of water. I only put filtered water in my machine as well and can honestly say it is some of the best coffee I have ever tasted!

Like PP said I filled the resevoir 2x's and just ran water thru it. The first 4-5 cups of coffee were not the best but after that it is a delicious cup of coffee every time.

Very lucky we have never had that problem with ours.

I've had several flavors that had chemical aftertastes. Make sure you read online reviews as you start trying new coffee flavors.:thumbsup2

If I remember correctly you are suppose to run it a couple times before using it. That being said I never noticed a plastic taste.

My vote goes to Green Mountain French Vanilla as being the best flavor too.

I work as a nurse in a hospital based outpatient clinic and we had a patient give us one for our staff lunch room as a thank you present. I loved it right away as when we made coffee by the pot it always seemed to taste burnt (too busy to drink it when its fresh). Now I get a fresh cup of coffee every time. I loved it so much I bought one for home. Never had this problem with either machine but I will say there is a HUGE difference in quality amongst all the k cups available out there. I personally like Caribou Coffee and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
