We bought a Keurig at Costco (I think it was called a Platinum) several months ago and use it a lot.
I kind of don't see the point of the 2.0 though:
- If you're going to make a lot, it makes a lot more sense to use a regular pot.
- The carafe size requires a different K-cup. As of the last time I was in Costco (last night), they sell the 2.0 maker, but not the larger K-cups. I imagine that will change (BJ's sells them).
- For larger amounts, wouldn't it have made more sense for them to have a system that uses two of the same size cups instead of inventing another size?
- They pulled a dirty trick that doesn't allow you to use off-brand cups that aren't Keurig "approved". If you upgrade from an older Keurig to a 2.0, you could have a problem with older cups. (There is a workaround that involves taking the top of a Keurig cup and attaching it to the off-brand...but that seems pretty kludgy)
- 2.0 takes a lot more counter space.
I'm glad we purchased ours prior to the 2.0.
