I bought my husband this coffee maker for his birthday as he is the only one who drinks coffee. Anyway he usually makes his in a travel mug as he is in a hurry and out the door he goes. What flavor or brand would you recommend to get the strongest coffee when set at the largest setting which is 11.25 oz.

Thanks

My dh likes Emeril's Big Easy Bold.

My dh loves the Jet Fuel Coffee. We bought a variety pack of extra bold coffees so that he could try a bunch and then decide which was best. We don't like the green mountain coffee's but that is our own taste.

Has anyone had any luck with the Newmann Own Organic Extra Bold? Also for you who use the extra bold on the largest setting, I have read on other places that some people run it through on the largest setting and then with the same k cup run it through on the smallest setting to give them more. If you do this is it still a decent strength of coffee? My husband uses a travel mug that holds about 16 ounces and so we are trying to find the best k cup that we will be able to get around that many ounces without having to use two k cups. Thanks for all your replies.

I love my Keurig. I think any extra bold will be ok. I don't drink the extra bold to strong for me.

That is the one I am using in my travel mug. And I found it at target & have seen it at Kohls too. So it is easy to find. But I also agree most Extra Bolds should work they have 30% more coffe in them.

Kae - do you use the largest setting and then a smaller setting with the same k cup or do you just make the largest setting with the extra bold

I love the Newman's Own Organic Whatevercomesnext! I do a large and then a small in my travel mug and it's great. The Parisian Nights (a Timothy's I think) is supposed to be the strongest of the strong. I had one pod in my variety pack and it tasted like battery acid to me (think Starbuck's Pike Place (or as we call it 'Puke Place')).

There are a bunch of extra bolds that are good and not over roasted. Some of the French, Italian and Kona blends are delish! Be sure to register your Keurig on the Keurig website to get free coffee. Try a variety pack to see what tastes yummy to your family!

Not a big coffee drinker, but, I love my Keurig! We enjoy Tully's Coffee, Kona blend, extra bold. Enjoy!

I LOVE this blend, too! But I wouldn't put it on the largest setting, it would be too watered down. I brew mine in the regular cup size.

OP, if your DH likes his coffee full strength, he may have to brew two K cups on regular cup setting. Two cups fit perfectly in a Disney refillable mug.

We also like Neman's extra bold, but at regular size cup brewing.

If you run it through the largest setting, it will be weaker than it should normally be. If you then run water through the same k cup again, it will dilute it even more.

You like strong coffee. I love coffee but not super strong.

What a cute dog on your page.

Thanks, that's my baby, Zoey.

I didn't used to like strong until I tried a bunch of the different Keurig blends. Now I like both regular and bold. What I was really trying to figure out in my quote was how weak it would be to run water through on the large setting (which probably would be perfect for someone like you who likes their coffee not as strong.) but then running water through it again and add the really weak stuff to the already diluted is going to taste like water. JMO, if you can make sense out of what I just said!:lmao:
