I cannot stand her. She does not sing, she whines. How this girl got a record deal, I'll never know.

I totally agree. When she was singing the song "Your love is a drug" or whatever it was she said a line that was something like "I'm all strung out" my DBF looked at me and said "Yeah... we can tell."

I just watched the clip on hulu.

Why couldn't she just sing the songs?
Was she going for irony?
She didn't look fat to me-just strange. Certainly not sexy. I felt bad for the backup dancers and musicians. Dancing with space helmets on.

I have to give her credit where credit is due: there is one song that she sings, called Animal, and she actually sounds nothing like herself and it's slightly enjoyable!

But, she is terrible live.

OK...did NOT see this thread before I posted mine. I agree with the dollar sign thing...stupid and gimmicky. I did not see SNL (way too late for me) but will have to go watch it now.

ETA...ok, I thought it was contrived, she was nervous and it was not a very good song.

Usually I like just about any of the music guests on SNL..

but???

the poor band and back up dancers!

hope the dancers got some water and air after that spacesuit workout...

the costumes remind me of the "workout" outfit made of plastic that helped you "sweat" (to the point of dehydration!)

(did like the hip hop kids dealing with the bear!!)
