I say potentially because it matches the description of one of many that were on the list to be banned in a bill he co-sponsered which has not passed.

Does he even know?

So, your complaint is that Kerry might have done something you don't like, but you're not sure and you have no proof?:rolleyes:

And isn't this already being discussed at great lengths on another thread?

Is this now the gift of choice for a man who has everything?

I've been stumped on what to buy some of the men in my life, but honest to God, I would never have thought about a semiautomatic shotgun!

:rotfl:

EB, did you read about Kerry's ooops? Apparently he was told to try a local restaurant at one of his stops because the chef/owner makes one thing each day. Kerry reportedly replied, "And you don't have to worry, it's whatever he's cooked up that day. And I think that's the way it ought to work, for confused people like me who can't make up our minds."

No, my complaint is that he is doing something he's sponsoring to become illegal. But I don't think he even knows that the gun he's holding fits the loosely defined parameters of what he wants banned.

I posted the proof. Did you read it?

This issue (the gun) is being discussed elsewhere? Link?

No, I missed that!! Now that's funny.

Well atleast he is smart enough to start to look at gun controll for the US. He may not realize teh weapon he is holding is covered in the legislation he is working towards but hey maybe it was to nice to give up.

We already have too much gun control. It's the idiots that use them that are the problem.

Gun control would help to keep the guns away from the idiots!

Try looking at the gun laws in Canada and also look at the number of shooting deaths here strict gun laws and we are glad to have them.

Now, if Kerry decides to shoot his new gun into a bunch of rocks and a pellets bounces back giving him a scratch, will he try for yet another Purple Heart?

In Canada you can't leave your gun unlocked if it is a hand gun you need a trigger lock and the weapon needs to be in a gun locker or lock box the ammo can't be stored with the weapon. This helps prevent the little children from finding mommy or daddy's loaded gun in the dresser or under a pillow and shooting little jimmy from next door because of careless storage of a firearm.

No, it wouldn't. Most crimes involving guns involve illegally purchased or stolen weapons.

Where do you see that this shotgun remotely fits the description of an assault weapon? I read the article and scanned the text of the bill and I don't see it at all.

"`(30) The term `semiautomatic assault weapon' means any of the following:
.
.
*snip*
.
.
`(H) A semiautomatic shotgun that has--

`(i) a folding or telescoping stock;

`(ii) a pistol grip;

`(iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine; or

`(iv) a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds.
"

A semiautomatic shotgun with "a pistol grip" is what is being proposed to be banned is what Kerry received as a gift.

Just to be clear, I'm 100 percent for safe and responsible firearm ownership in case you were wondering.

This is too funny! I saw a clip of him with the gun yesterday before it became a "big deal" and said- "man, is he trouble, democrats candidates can't touch guns in an election year!"

Why not?

I'm a Democrat, a gun owner, and I see no reason why an individual should own an assault weapon.

Uh, that picture looks like the shotgun has a pretty standard stock to me.

I just found it to be a very ODD gift to give someone. No matter what the issue is or isn't.

I also agree that guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people. And no matter what gun control there is the ones that really want the guns for the wrong purpose will FIND them one way or another.
