Kepler Launch Set for Tonight

Don't forget about the next shuttle launch scheduled for Wednesday March 11th at 9:20 PM.

If anyone plans on going to see the shuttle launch (I'll be there), one of the best viewing areas is right across the Indian Ocean. Take SR50 right to the very end where it meets US1. Anywhere along the river at that point is a great viewing location. I would recommend being there a couple of hours before launch time since the traffic and crowd can become a problem.

You can also get tickets to view the launch from KSC but, unless you are planning a day at KSC, I wouldn't recommend the extra $$$. I've viewed a launch from KSC and there are trees in the way unless you spend extra $$$ on tickets to view the launch from the causeway (which, by the way, are sold out for this launch).

The spot across from the Indian River is 10 miles from the launch pad. And, since it's right across the river, there is nothing in your line of sight.

Hope to see you there!

I must be in a silly mood because this tickled me to no end.

I think Armand means the Indian River.

You aint seeing nothing from the Indian Ocean.:lmao:

Remember to go to the far end of the parking lot too.:)

You know, I've seen shuttle liftoff photos taken from Massachusetts or one of those New England states so I didn't bat an eye at Indian Ocean v River.

I'm glad you are getting better enough to get in a silly mood.

Kevin,

Yep, after I read your email and then read my post again, I started laughing out loud. Of course, I meant the Indian River. :rotfl2:

Can't even think why I typed the Indian Ocean. :goodvibes

Is it the weekend yet?

Thanks for the good wishes Jack. Things are "looking" up.

I guess it's a Florida thing. The Indian River runs along Florida's East Coast.

The Indian Ocean is MUCH further away.

It just hit me the right way.

I assume you're all going to be standing on the west of any parking lots when watching the launch. :goodvibes There are so many things that remind of us Bob.

Okay, stop picking on me :rotfl:

I DID mention the Indian RIVER in the fourth paragraph. Doesn't that count for something?

I am happy that I was able to make everyone laugh (at my expense, of course!)

I watched the launch from my front porch. Granted I live in on the west coast of FL, so the show isn't quite as spectacular as those living closer. I did watch as the orange and then red light climbed up in the sky. We love night launches.
