Kenneth Lay died of a heart attack

popcorn:: Get the popcorn. I see a debate rising out of this.

I do feel for his family.

We think it was the CIA. He was probably ready to out his old buddy Bush on something.

Geez... I thought this was a set-up for a joke...

I feel for his family.

Sadly, I really believe you believe that.

And who's this "we"??

OMG! That is sad.
I can't help but think that he was in Colorado, probably on vaca and the people who suffered because of his, at least negligent laxness (or worse), are having to work instead of enjoying their retirement. Ironic, Huh?

::yes:: ::yes::

Stress takes such a toll on our bodies.

I feel for his family as well.

agreed...add to the stress of lying: the stress of getting caught and having to pay for what he did!!!!!

Yep.

I'm just disappointed he wont be able to spend a long time in jail now.

Well the stress of lying so much finally got to him.

I just said the exact same thing to a co-worker when we heard the news.

ITA And why wasn't he already in jail? Most people when they are convicted go right to jail. I live in Alabama and the former Gov. was just found guilty of a bunch of suff and he doesn't have to go to jail while he is appealing the conviction. I think he should be in jail, and he can do his appeals from there. Different rules for the rich and powerful.

Lay was awaiting sentencing. You usually aren't asked to start serving a jail term that hasn't yet been handed down. Lay was out on bond until that next step... people of all walks of life get bond.

I wonder if this has any bearing on seizing any assets (as if that was going to happen anyway)

Well that's one way to avoid jail time.

I gotta think that judgements can still be attached to his estate.
