We will be staying at AKV Kidani Village and may have to bring a dog with us. Has anyone used the Disneyworld Kennels? How are they? How much do they charge per day/night???

We took our dog this last Christmas and we used the FT wild. Kennel for 2 weeks. DVC members get a discount

The staff was excellent. Our dog was traumatized last summer when we left him at a local kennel so we decided to take him with over the holidays.
The staff was very understanding and accomodating and he really liked being there. We visited twice and both times he ran to the door to go back to his kennel after his walk.
Price was reasonable. We paid $17 per day.

Thanks for the info. I called and am soooo happy with the info given. Do you know that the new kennels that are going to be built are actually priced on the type of "SUITE" you choose for your dog/cat!!!! Can't wait to bring my new rescue B&T Coonhound to her "suite".....
I guess they will have value thru deluxe accomidations for your pet!!! If you're a DVC member, does that make them a DVC Kennel Club Member!!!!

The DVC rate for this year for dogs increased to $20 per night.

I already have our appt set up for this year as our dog is med size and they fill up over the holidays. It also locks in our price in case of an increase.

Last year the price increased over the summer but I already had an appt, so Best Friends honored the rate a the time of booking which saved us about $40!

They are still waayyy cheaper than Petsmart and provide a high level of service.

The new facility should open Summer 2010 They will most likely consolidate all the locations into 1 but it would be nice to have the other locations. Very convenient access depending on where you are staying.

It would be nice if we had a DVC Kennel!

We used the Fort Wilderness kennel and it was excellent. Our dog loved it there. Since we drive it was actually less expensive then leaving her home. We were able to walk her anytime between 7am and 9pm. She was also walked by the kennel staff, but since she was a rescue and we hadn't had her that long, we felt better spending time with her.

We have used the kennels at MK and Epcot for my son's dog and were very happy with both.....he will be at the MK kennel in March......sounds like the new kennel will be open by the time we go in Oct for the food and wine festival

Where/when will this new kennel be? This is the first I am hearing about it. We boarded our puppy Christmas this year at the Epcot kennel for a week, and it was an excellent experience. They were awesome there! Loved our lil' pup and took wonderful care of her!

I guess the new kennels will be at bonnet creek area and the woman said the prices will vary with the type of suite chosen for the animal!!! I wonder what that means...do the "value" dogs get plastic dishes and the "deluxe" dogs get gold plated??? And, are there one and two room suites for the dogs??? I should call back to find out
