I hope this ques goes on this forum because all I see is Orlando Hotel ques. listed.

We are thinking about driving out to the Kennedy Space Center on our Trip in January. Anyone been there? What is there to see? How long do we need to plan to be there?

Thanks,
Amanda

You'd probably get more response to this question on the main board. But I've done this in the past. We went to WDW in March 2001 and also got to go see a shuttle launch during the same vacation. The shuttle launch was a 6am and we spent the day at Kennedy. I'm a space nut, so for me it was an awesome day but I think my wife was indifferent. They have several different buildings you can tour through and many different movies you can watch. You get to walk through the rocket garden and see all the old rockets. The Saturn 5 complex is awesome! They have all the different sections of the Saturn 5 rocket hanging from the ceiling. I just stood around looking up for a couple of hours. Overall I thought it was excellent. Follow this link and on the right side under "In This Section" you can click on the various tours. We didn't take any of the extra tours (NASA Upclose and the Then & Now tour) so I can't comment on them. If you or someone in your family likes space 'stuff' then you can easily spend all day here. I think I could have spent 2 days easy because we didn't get to see all of the movies I wanted.

If you or anyone is interested, I've got some pics of the shuttle launch posted here. We were 6 miles from the launch site (that's as close as they would let you get) and these are stills taken from my digital camcorder so they aren't the greatest quality.
