Kennedy Space Center

Hello!
We are planning to visit Kennedy Space Center after leaving the cruise (in less than 2 weeks!) and staying overnight. We have a rental car secured. Where have you stayed that you would recommend? Can be anywhere between Kennedy Space Center and MCO as we fly back out of Orlando on Sunday. Looking for affordable but CLEAN and safe. Also, if you have info on KSC that you can share, please do! Any such thing as discount tickets? Looking for info this weekend so we can finalize our plans. We are looking at Jan 23 for this one night overnight if that helps your info.

We haven't been to KSC in about 10 years, so my info may be outdated...

They used to give a small ticket discount for AAA members. We loved our trips to KSC, especially the bus trip out to the Saturn rocket exhibit. Do as much as you can while there (although we've always passed on Lunch with an Astronaut- just not our thing, I guess, or else I'm too cheap to spend the extra $$$).
As far as accommodations, we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Titusville when we went for a space shuttle launch. It was ok, clean enough, but that was a long time ago. We also stayed at the Quality Suites in Cocoa Beach, but once again it was a long time ago. Check Trip Advisor for recommendations for Titusville hotels, but honestly, it's 'close enough' to MCO to just find a good airport hotel deal and stay there.
