For those of you that have been there, is it good for younger kids, say 6 and 9? It seems pricey to get in.

Your Congressional representatives may be able to provide you with free tickets if you ask far enough in advance. Admission tickets are good for two days.

My husband and I went last summer. We spent a day and a half and never got to the Astronaut Hall of Fame, where I'm sure we could have spent another day. Our boys at 9 and up would have loved it. A 6-year-old can appreciate it on some level but will not be able to read all the exhibit captions.

It is pricey to get in! It was okay, we are glad we went though. It was tough leaving the Disney magic and great customer service. To be honest, I felt as if the place was dirty, and some of the workers had an attitude. Now, if we had not been submerged in Disney for the previous 7 days, we may not have even noticed, but going from bliss to Kennedy we did(both my husband and myself).

You can contact your congressman and see if they have any free tickets left. If so, s/he will put you on the list, and when you arrive, just show ID, and it's free. Not sure when you are going, and they have limited tickets per rep, at different times throughout the year(at least that is what we were told in CT).

My son is very interested in space travel, so he loved it. He was 6 1/2 when we went, had no complaints, liked it as much as Disney in fact. The simulator is really really cool too. I would say it is worth going to, and even better if you either have a coupon, or if it's free. I'm curious as to other responses now too.

We just took our 11 year old son on July 2 as we got off a cruise. He is always sad when a trip is over so we thought it would be a fun way to spend the day. He chose Kennedy Space Center because he had studied space in his 6th grade science and social studies class. We had a great day, but I think he was disappointed in the "activities". In his mind, I think he thought there would be rides like at Epcot. He did enjoy seeing things he had learned about and we got to see the shuttle on the launch pad that was super cool. I think it would depend on the interest level of your children in space. There are some IMAX movies but the one that we planned to see broke and they never got it going before we left. If you do a google search there is a $5 off coupon each ticket. Also, the food is very expensive and is quite yucky! I would bring snacks or sandwiches next time.

My 2.5 year old LOVED it. At least every other day she is asking to go and see the space shuttle and rockets.

We too went after just getting off cruise ship the end of May. DD 9 & DD6. We were rather tired but did enjoy it. Spend 6 hours there & did not even go to the Hall of Fame Museum. We got some tix adult for price of child & $5 off kids thru 2 seperate "deals". It made girls appreciate this last launch having been there. They thought the eagles nest & seeing allligators on the bus trip was pretty cool. Kind of sad thinking about all these folks losing their jobs but I think we all left feeling rather proud of our country and appreciating the space program.

We went in 2009 before our week at WDW. We are 4 adults (mom dad and 2 adult kids) It was O.K. but I thought it was a lot of money. Once was enough for us.

Got that right food is very ex*****ve and gross. I never so happy see WDW I don't know what do. Went with our boy scout troop we stop for mc Donald breakfast. I never thought you could mess up a salad but I wrong. On top that we went on the hottest day and they ran out of ice.

Growing up there, we used to go a lot for various field trips. At the time, it was admission free. You paid for the tour and the movie if you wanted to do them, but you didn't have to. They did spruce the place up a little, and if you have a space fanatic, it is a great place to visit. If not, the verdict would be skip it. Other than ice cream cones, I have never eaten there, but I wouldn't with the previous reviews.
