Kennedy Space Center--enough to do?

We are coming in May and DH wants to go to the Space Center as we have never been there.

We will not rent a car as neither of us want to drive on vacation, so we either have to get a town car to drive us or go on one of the bus tours for the day where we would be stuck until they came to get us.

My question is......Is there enough to do at the Space Center to fill a day, or are we going to be wishing we could leave earlier?

Thanks for the input!!

There is plenty to do, in my opinion. My DH and I went for 2 days in 2010 and still missed things. If you write your congressman(women) and tell them when you are going they will give you 2 free admission tickets ( I think we saved 60 dollars or something around that). We then booked the tours that took us to the launch pads. There are 2 different tours and we did one on one day and the other the next. One tour is the assembly building and newer launch pads and the space shuttle landing strip (sorry it not so detailed as I am writing this at work). The other tour took us to the older launch pads that included the Apollo 1 pad where the fire occured and the launch pad that the Mercury astronauts launched from. Both were great. There is also a air museum not far away that was really a great military plane museum.

The bus trip is a good idea for people who don't have a drivers license, who can't rent a car, are under 25 ($$$) or are very uncomfortable driving in the US.

It wouldn't be an all day tour if most people didn't think there is enough to do. Doesn't change the fact that you might be bored. You'll have to get your own transportation to and from the pick up hotel. Rent a car and you'll leave from your hotel. Maybe you'll want to leave for the space center later then the what's available. Maybe you'll want to leave earlier, or even stay later.

JMO but the bus trip only makes sense if driving isn't an option. Take the bus if that's the only way you'll go. Again the tour length is based on how long it takes a "regular" guest to have an enjoyable day.
