We are travelling from Australia for our Orlando trip and are trying to squeeze as much in as possible. Does anyone know if this schedule would be possible,

Disembark Freedom of the Seas on Sunday, 2nd October (early AM, carry our own bags off)
Pick up hire car, Cape Canaveral
Tour Kennedy Space Centre
Drive to Orlando, check in HRH
Enter Universal Studios by 4:00 for Stay & Scream, Halloween Horror Night

We are only at HRH for 3 nights, Sun, Mon, Tue, so this would be our only night to do HHN. We also want to do Kennedy on that day as we will be so close already after getting off the ship.
So, what I am asking is how long will we need at Kennedy and how long is the drive to HRH from there?

I know it will be a long day, but we will have 22hrs of flying home to catch up on our zzz's.

Hi,

We did Florida this year around the same time as you are looking at it.

IMO you would find it very hard to do what you are planning.

It is about a 1.5 hour drive from Kennedy to Universal, you would probably need at least 30 minutes to check in etc and get over to HHN for the Stay and Scream. Kennedy is really interesting and deserving of more than just a couple of hours which is all you would have there.

I think it would be possible to do if you don't mind packing all that stuff in one day. You would have to leave Kennedy around 2:30 to get back to US/IOA by 4 as Kennedy is about an hour to hour 1/2 drive from US. I think if you got there pretty early, like 8 or 9 am you should have plenty of time to see just about everything. My DF used to work there and we went a couple of times and got done with everything in about 4 hours. There's not nearly as much stuff there as there is at US. But yeah, I think you should be able to do that. :thumbsup2 You're talking about next year right?

Yes next year, obsessive planner!

May have to do Kennedy on Saturday 24th before the cruise and stay in Canaveral that night,

Or another option, at this stage they have a rocket launch scheduled for 23rd -I know you cant plan your vacation around launch schedules but, does anyone know what time of day these usually go,and do they run normal tours on launch days, I will be cutting into our Disney time by going on two days. :confused3

There isn't a "usual" time of day the shuttle launches, they've been launched at various times throughout it's history. Sometimes they launch it very early in the morning, like about 5-6 am, or it could be in the middle of the day, or it could be at night. I'm not sure how early they announce the time they are planning to launch it either. Also, the problem with the launches now is that recently in the last couple of years, they've had to delay most of the launches, sometimes a few hours, sometimes a few days, so it's almost like there's really no telling when exactly it will launch.
