Hi, We're headed to Orlando for a week in October.
I'm just wondering if it's possible to do both the Kennedy Space Center and Micky's Halloween Party on the same day.
We're staying in Orlando and already have tickets to the Space Center. It's an hour commute between the two. Is there enough time to see all of the Space Center and then go to the Halloween Party that night? Also, I know you can get into to MK at 4 and the party starts at 7 but what time does the party end?
The rest of our nights will be taken up with F&W.

Thanks.

The party ends at 12:00a midnight. I suppose you could do both on the same day, but I wouldn't consider that ideal. It's been a few years since I went to KSC, but I think I would want to go without having to leave by mid-afternoon. On the other hand, for some people 4-5 hours at KSC is probably enough depending on their interest level.

It normally takes us 1.5 hours to drive to KSC. That being said, there is so much to see there that I wouldn't plan anything else that day (or night).

We did this last year for the Christmas party and it is totally doable - we got there just before opening headed out on the first bus at 10am to Saturn 5 centre and managed to get everything seen and done (although we have been a few time before).

We then headed back about 4pm, took about an hour and got into the Magic Kingdom for about 5.30ish and had a fab night.

Although be prepared it is a long old day

We spent one and a half days at the KSC and that was enough time, and that was before the Space Shuttle was there.

:dogdance:I wouldn't do that cause you need at least a hole day for KSC
So do them on 2 Different days .
But i think its ok to do for example epcot and than HP

I think it's doable, but not ideal. For us, KSC is a full day, but if you go there before opening and had a good plan in place, you could see everything by mid afternoon. If you're okay with not arriving at MNSSHP right at 4:00pm, then it will work. It will be a long day, but possible.

I wouldn't do it. We did KSC in March after our cruise and spent the entire day there and still didn't see everything. I think it would tire you out before MNSSHHP.

I'll have to agree with the "I wouldn't do it" crowd. We went to KSC last year and arrived early shortly after 9:00 and stayed until 3:30. I could have easily stayed another couple hours and not seen everything I wanted to, but my DD was losing steam so we called it a day. I can't imagine doing that and then trying to stay up for the MNSSHP. The party tickets are so expensive and there is so much to do at the party. You really want to be well-rested for that.

You can do it if you decide to forgo (or only do) the Saturn 5 stuff. That's a two-hour block that's hard to work into a day with a second event. But if you just stay at the main visitor center, you can have a great time and be done at 1:30 or so.

That said, I'd hate to crowd the memories of KSC with anything else -- let them sit in the head for an afternoon on their own. But if you've got a tight schedule, then I think you can do it if you select one half of the center to do.

I'd rather drop one of those for the party, if you want to do the party. Can hit the festival during the day then go to the party later on.

And depending on how late you're at KSC you can drop in for a bite at Epcot after.

KSC is more than an hour drive. I'd rather drop one night of Food and Wine to do a party on a day you won't be driving to the other side of the state.

I would not do them the same day. I have spent two days at the space center and still haven't seen everything yet, and I didn't have to leave early. If it were me, I would plan a full day at the space center on a separate day. Then on Halloween party day, I would rope drop a park, take a midday break with a nap, and then head to the party refreshed.

Depending on how early the space center closes the day you visit, and what day of the week you are there, a fun thing to do is to have dinner at one of the restaurants along the port and watch the cruise ships go out before heading back to Orlando. I love watching the Disney ships go out.

I would give Kennedy a full day. There is so much to see and do, it would be a shame to feel rushed. Make sure you get in line for the bus tour/Saturn 5 moon center early. The lines get very long. The space shuttle exhibit is amazing and needs plenty of time. There are several other exhibit buildings, the rocket garden and 2 IMAX movies that are very good, also. With lunch and of course, the gift shop, it is a full day. We are always pretty tired when we take our company to Kennedy and the parties are too special to start the evening worn out.

You can very easily do a full day at KSC. I went with some friends and even though we didn't do everything we still kept busy til 5. Even though it's an hour commute you need to add about 30 minutes either way for bus loading/unloading (and that doesn't even count traffic issues) then getting back to the MK.

Yeah the party officially starts at 7 but you want to be in the park much earlier (at least 5).

It's possible, but you'd have to miss some things at Kennedy Space Center if you want to get to the party at 4. When we go to Kennedy Space Center we always stay til closing time (6pm) and we're busy almost the whole time

I am also in the "I wouldn't do it" camp. We have enjoyed KSC on a prior trip, but the drive is well over an hour and it is a lot of cool stuff to look at and not be rushed. I also wouldn't want to crowd it with something else that costs a lot of $$ that night.

No way would I do this, Particularly with kids. Mine were wiped after a full day of KSC and there's no way they'd be able to handLe the drive and then costume change, excitement etc without a massive meltdown. Now if it's all adults or adults and teens, maybe you can do it but I would be wiped out myself !

I'm on the "Don't do it" page.

For my dh and me two days a KSC isn't enough time.
