Hi guys,

I have heard that some people who have booked with Ken had booked at say $100 a night but then nearer the time Ken has contacted them and reduced the rate.

Is this standard procedure for him and why does he do this?

Thanks:goodvibes

I've booked with Ken 4 times, and my rate has never gone down. This is my understanding of how it works: Wyndham owners pay a certain number of points at over 60 days out, and then he gives you his price at that point. If there is still availability for the type of accommodations that you want at less than 60 days out, then he can re-book at a lower point value, thus saving him points and you money. I "think" he actually makes more money if he can do this, even though he is lowering your cost. If you are going during any fairly busy time of year, don't expect this to happen, though.

I'm booked with Ken for the week 5/7-14. They contacted me at the 60 day mark and offered to lower the rate by $10/day. I was told that re-booking the accomodations was "mutually beneficial" which I took to mean they saved some points and we saved a few bucks. $10/day isn't much, but every little bit helps right? :yay:

I will be there for 15 nights from 19th Oct to 3rd Nov. Fingers crossed it will be quiet then :confused3

I have booked with Ken twice in January and have gotten a reduction both times. However, my initial booking was $160 for a two bedroom and then it went down to $100.

If your initial booking is only $100 per night, I would guess you are going off season for Wyndham (which typically does not mean quiet time as disney) However, I can guarantee you that Ken will bend over backwards to get you that discount. I can't way enough about him.

We booked with Ken at $100 a night for a 1 bedroom. I think this is as low as he goes. But at the 60 day mark, we got upgraded to a 2 bedroom, which we were ecstatic about!!

We booked a 2bdrm for a 5 day stay in May and we got reduced $10 a night just before our 30 day mark. That's $50 that can be spent somewhere else! We've had no problems and great service so far with Ken and Denise.
