I caught a few minutes of Jeopardy yesterday, and I've been hearing about Ken Jennings, who has been on for a few months and won $2 million plus.

My question is: do you think the people at Jeopardy are trying to come up with questions that will trip him up or are they giving him questions that are easy with him because they like the publicity he's bringing them? Or does the guy just know everything?

You do NOT have to word your response in the form of a question;)

I thought that the "rumor" was that the episode in which he lost has already been taped and just hasn't been aired yet. We say an episode of this on Saturday...the first time we've seen him (or even the Jeopardy show at all for a long time). He seemed to also be very smart about the way he played the game....laying back and not simply answering every question. He got all the "daily doubles" and DS says he's heard that Jennings somehow seems to get most of them.

I also think he is freakishly smart.

I also think...and this is just totally my opinion, that he is going to lose tonight.

Why? Because it is supposed to be college week this week. But instead of starting it on Monday, they aren't starting it until Wednesday. Which is very odd. My opinion is, they taped the show where Ken loses, and then decided to air it and then start College Week, so that's there's a buffer between him losing and the next round of regular contestants.

Again, JMO.

I think he will be the next host of Jeopardy, when Alex retires.

yeah - I heard that he's "lost" already too...I heard the money mark he was at - but I won't spoil that for others.

I gotta start Tivo'ing Jeopardy just so I can see that episode!

It said on the radio this morning that tonights episode is a biggie. I can't remember if it will be his last win or he loses tonight. I will be tuning in to see it.

I'll try to watch it tonight. I heard there was some controversy with the question that he misses. That he might not have been wrong after all. It will interesting to see what happens.

hmmm...Maleficent13 - if what skiwee1 is saying is true - then I gave you wrong info...but I'm pretty sure that's what DH told me. (what I told you)

Would you be so kind to add "SPOILER" in the title.

I wouldn't have opened this thread if I'd know there were spoilers.

Thanks so much,

I think Ken is a combination of freakishly smart and quick with the button. Other contestants are obviously able to ring in, but he still manages to beat them. I guess after the first 10 or so shows he's managed to learn how to work it well!

I'm usually pretty good with Jeopardy at home, and can get a lot of the ones the contestants miss. But Ken's something else. He reminds me of that one kid in school that you always remember because he/she was super smart and always seemed to know everything, but not very popular.

I've heard at least 3 different target amounts that are supposedly the number he finishes at - two of them have already passed. I've also heard that he loses, but then again I've also heard reports that he "retires".

I might be a seer after all!! :p

I told my SO last night that it was very strange for them to be starting college week on a Wednesday. Hmmm...

Is it me, or will Jeopardy be kinda flat after Ken goes?

He's not as smart as I am ;)

Spoiler? You do realize the man is either going to lose or quit eventually, he can't stay on Jeopardy forever.

You can't take away the fact that the guy is SMART in a SCARY way, but... personally, I am getting tired of seeing him on there. Enough already! I stopped watching about 2-3 weeks ago - I just tune in for a few minutes to see if he is off! And I know of others that have done the same.

We'll see what happens this week...

Like Amberle said earlier-

I have heard that he has mastered the button..."thingy." Therefore, when he knows the answer to the question no one can beat him to it.

Didn't he also win on "Millionaire?" Making a living on game shows...yep, he's a smart cookie alright!;)

hmmmm...hadn't heard that he was ever on "Millionaire".

DH says they just need to ask him more obscure "pop culture" things. He's smart - and he knew more about mixed drinks than I thought he would - but I don't think he knows all about current trends/music etc.
