From anyone that may have an idea.
She's moving around fine, but what signs should I look for to decide whether or not I should make a trip to the emergency room tonight?

She did a somersault and landed wrong, she said.

I injured my back doing a somersault about a year ago. Turns out I just pulled a muscle.... I took 2 advil every 4-6 hours and I used a moist heating pad for 20 minutes at a time. It took about 3-4 days to get better. I would say if she is in severe pain, take her to the ER, but if not wait and see how she is in the morning. Hope it heals quick, I know a bad back is no fun!!! Megan

If she has numbness, pain or loss of sensation in either leg, then take her to the ER. Otherwised it's probably just a muscle pull.

This from someone who herniated a disc at age 26 and went through major spinal surgery at age 28...I know the signs. :)

Achey, dull pain across injured area is to be expected. Radiating, severe, stabbing pain is indication of possible further injury. If she is experiencing the former then intermittent ice packs for 20 minutes for the next 24-48 hours. Anti-inflammatory meds such as motrin will also help. The reason that we use ice is to decrease swelling of the injured tissue.
Hope she feels better soon!
J.

She's alright, thank you. :)

She's not up yet but she's been moving around all night. Gently, but moving. I had her sleep with me so I could keep an eye on her.
