Oh wow I'm really sorry . It's kinda like the smaller hurricanes. Once a new story comes along the news moves to something else and you really don't know how bad things were/still are.
I found regular Eggo's yesterday at Target. They had plenty of those, just no varieties (oh except Star Trek waffles).
I'm guessing this is the flooding that put Six Flags under so much water as well. I remember seeing those pictures when the storms hit. If it was the same flooding, then I can only guess the amount of damage. Product would have been lost, supplies, and the machines would have been damaged do to extended time under water (not to mention the stuff IN the water that you get with flooding).
They've had the sign up at our Target for 2 weeks now, I think.
I was able to find regular Eggo's but none of the Nutrigrain, which is the only kind we like. I bought a box of Archer Farms but haven't tried them yet.
Now I have mental image of grown women fighting over boxes of Eggos in the frozen section like black Friday shoppers going after limited quantities of 50% off iPods.
I had to go back to the store yesterday to pick up an item that I forgot to buy on my grocery trip Monday. While I was at the store I went to the frozen section just to see if there would be a box or two of our waffles on the shelf. (We also eat the Eggo Nutri-Grain whole wheat kind.) The store had stacked the Aunt Jemimah waffles in the spot where the Eggos used to be.
The stores around us (Boston area) have had the same sign up for a couple weeks as well. The only replacement I've found is the Trader Joe's waffles, everyone in our household enjoys them.
