KeepsakeFloral w/MKShoot 2 days after Wedding

I would like to have my flowers preserved but our MK shoot is 2 days after the wedding. Do we need the floral refresh? I have heard so many brides say that the bouquets last for a week or more. Is it too risky not to have the refresh? TIA!

I had my MK photo shoot the day after the wedding and I did have my flowers refreshed. I figured not only would it make the flowers look better for the pictures, but it would look better when the were preserved. So, I would tell you to do it.

Yeah, even I am going to tell you to do it, and I am notoriously cheap!

The thing is, you want Keepsake to start with an absoulutely fresh bouquet. This is why Disney usually takes your bouquet from you at the reception to stick in the fridge when you are planning to have floral preservation.

I didn't want to pay for it, but I have to admit the floral refresh is a relative bargain, considering that they replace all the brown flowers (which might be the whole bouquet!) for a flat fee (usually $75-$125) instead of charging you for a whole new bouquet. Plus you get a new boutonniere too

My wedding is on a Sunday and my MK shoot is on Tuesday. I am getting the floral refresh because I want my flowers to look fresh for the shoot and they will probably look better preserved too.

I went the total opposite way and I am having them take the bouquet away after the reception and I made a silk version of my bouquet, just a little smaller.

Our shoot will also be 2 days after our wedding... and I decided to skip the refresh + duplicate boutonniere (I'm just risking my roses possibly wilting + I'll make a silk boutonniere for my fiance... I might also make a silk bouquet if I have time to, just as a backup.)

The cost for refreshing my $250 bouquet would've been around $75, and the duplicate boutonniere would've just been the cost of another one (ours are $13), plus there's a floral delivery fee of $25.

I saw your silk version in your pj. Totally cute! I am so not crafty so I am going with the refresh per everyones advice.

I think flowers naturally shrink a little in terms of bloom size once they are dried out. I might just be too nitpicky LOL, but from a few pics I've seen of preserved bouquets... they look smaller than the original bouquet hehe.

We did not get the floral refresh and I don't regret it - the flowers still look good in the pics. However, like I said, our pics were done the day after the wedding instead of 2 days after like yours will. I don't think waiting had any impact on the preservation. My bouquet had roses and stephanotis (sp? the little white star flowers). Because the stephanotis flowers do not preserve well, we bought more of those from Keepsake which were then replaced in the preserved bouquet. Also, everyone told me that my bouquet would look darker after the preservation (which I understood). My flowers were a mauve/dark pink and purple. After the preservation, the entire bouquet looks purple! It's still pretty, but I thought at least I would have some shade of the pink. HTH!

A lot of times they look smaller because they take out half of the bouquet. I know they told me that around 40% of mine would be removed to make it fit in the frame. Then there's extra if you want something else made, like I had an ornament done

As you can tell from the video, the pink is a dark colored pink, but my preserved bouquet came out more like the color of the dark purple flowers.

I think most of us just use photobucket. You can upload the images to your account and then you copy the code into your message here and it will appear as a picture. When you upload a photo you will see 4 different lines for an image including one that is a hyperlink to include in emails.

I had pinks and purples in my bouquet and you can still tell the difference in my preserved one; this is a close-up I also had other items like our invitation included in the frame:

Ah ok, that makes sense and would explain why the preserved bouquets look so different.

BTW, I think the ornament idea is great! Yours came out beautiful.
