Hi,

I am heading back to see the mouse next August with DH only this time we have my sister her hubby and 3 kids all boys (8,12 & 14) along with my brother and his wife and my soon to be new little niece or nephew :)

I am consious that my nephews or at least the older two are getting to that "grow up" phase and I just wanted to re capture a bit of their youth again and try to get them all geared up.

I am planning on having little theme nights maybe once a month from September onwards to try to get the anticipation built up and I just wondered what you all did to keep the magic alive? :wizard:

Would love to hear your stories.

Thanks in advance

My DS would have been horrified at the thought of a theme night at the age of 14 (and possibly 12). However at the ages of 14 and then again at 18 as soon as we arrived in WDW he was a little kid again!

I wouldn't worry too much about keeping the magic alive - the magic will win in the end!

Totally agree with the above comment, im 24 now, and went to WDW when i was 18.....before we got there i was giving it the whole 'im only goin for the sun' act......got there and I was like a kid again! When I went in February this year....i didnt even bother denying the fact I was going to be a kid for 11 days!!!

I do understand at 15-20 it might not be classed as 'cool' to people that havent been, but i think once you get past 21....You really dont care!:woohoo:

Yeah I know the older two won't appreciate it much but the little one might. I think it's a case of I just wanted to build it up for them as they've never been.

Thanks for your replies.

DS does enjoy playing Disney trivial pursuit so maybe you could have an evening doing something similar - but I'd try it as a one off just in case it falls flat.

(My kids don't want to know about their holiday until a week or so before they travel - they know where they are going and that's enough for them until they get there. As for me - well I'm planning my holidays for weeks before I even book them (non-Disney holidays included) and for WDW I probably plan for the whole 3 or 4 years between trips!!!)

I think at that age Disney is one of those things you secretely like! In our house a disney themed night would go down a right laugh, probably *** we would all sit round telling stories from our past visits!!!
