Just a small suggestion for your kids....

Since booking our trip to WDW, my 6-year-old daughter gets a letter in the mail once a month from a Disney Character, telling her how excited that he/she is that she is coming to WDW.

The cards are in envelopes that are sealed with a sticker of whoever the character is as well as their face on the front of the letter. These are done invitation style. Everytime she gets one of these, she gets very excited all over again. Like when we first told her that we booked our trip to WDW.

The letters/cards reads something like this....

Hello Princess DD,

News is spreading all over Disney World that you are coming with your family in the summer of 2005. Aladdin and I cannot wait to see you. When you come, please tell your mom to have a camera ready; I look forward to having out picture taken together.

Love,
Princess Jasmine

or maybe

Hello DD,

I heard you are coming to WDW. Tigger and I are really looking forward to your visit. When you get to Disney World, please come and see me in the Animal Kingdom. If you do not mind, please bring me some Hunny. I have a rumbly in my tumbly.

Love,
Your Pal Pooh

Also, I had my friends at work write in all of these for me so that the handwriting in each of these would be different.

What a cute idea! We're goin in September, so maybe I'll send a note to my son around Labor Day.

I'll do one from Mickey and one from Buzz Lightyear, since we're also going to the KSC and my son (age 3) wants to be a "spaceman" when he grows up.

bytheblood: How cute! I am sure she loves to get them and is very lucky to have you arrange for her to experience the magic before she even gets there! Kudos!

Thats cute. I think as soon as my cousin books her next trip, I will send letters like that to her DD's. :)

What a great idea!!! I wish I'd thought of that when my daughter was younger.

I had thought about doing something like this too but reading your post made me get to work on it. We are going in September so I'm going to send my dd, ds, and dn's these letters for the next eight weeks. Just thought I'd share our first letter:

Greetings Space Rangers.
Star command informed of the stellar news that you would be blasting off soon for a trip to Walt Disney world with the rest of your space crew. After you adjust to life on this uncharted territory be sure to take a ride on my Ranger Spin, it's out of this world. If you get a chance, drop by Al's Toy Barn. I often hang out there with my good friend Woody.
Be safe Rangers on your voyage through hyperspace, sometimes re-entry is a bit bumpy.

Signing out,
Buzz Lightyear

I too think I'll enjoying making them more than they will getting them but it makes the time pass a little quicker for me.

I LOVE this idea! My DD6 princess: and DS4 pirate: are going to go nuts! We'll be there in October & now I'm all excited to make cards about the Halloween party! Thanks for all the suggestions!

We needed some cheering up, and this is a God send!!

DD7 just finished science camp (I know, I know--poor little geek :)) so Aurora sent her a "Congratulations on a job well done" card, and DS3 misses Daddy (away til Sunday) so Woody and Bullseye sent him an "I miss you" card from him. Hooray! Happy children tomorrow morning!

Thanks for the link--it'll keep them busy all morning!

What a great idea! We are not going until next year sometime but I think I might do it anyway to keep my two in line!

Here is my kids letter for this week, six more to go.

Helllooooo,
The news is spreading fast around Disney World that you are coming to visit very soon. I know you are going to have so much fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN!. I noticed that you will be coming to eat lunch with me, Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore at the Crystal Palace. Won't that just be Tigger-iffic? I'll be sure to bounce by and say hi! Well, I gotta go now, I gotta lotta bouncin' to do.

T.T.F.N.
(ta ta for now)
Tigger

Just thought I'd share! :teeth:

WOW! Glad so many people could use this idea for their children and keep the Disney magic alive. My daughter is going into first grade and this is a great way to get her to read as well.

Have fun with those letters from Disney!
