Keeping or Canceling ADRs?

Anyone out there have any luck with just winging same day reservations at TS locations during your trip? We are a party of 2 visiting WDW 9/2-9/10 and have several ADRs but I'm considering dropping some to allow some flexibility in our day. Every now and then I read a TR and someone will mention getting a same day reservation. I'm not sure how common this is, so if any others that have had the same luck and can share their experience would be great.

We are a family of four who has had good luck doing walk-ins at Via Napoli between 2-4pm.

We have the most luck at Epcot since there are just so many Table Service restaurants. I never make an ADR there. However, we don't care about eating at the most popular restaurants like Via Napoli, Teppan Edo.....

If you are not too worried about where you eat, you should be fine. As long as you do not get upset that you cannot secure 'Ohana at 7 PM oh the fly there will be plenty of choices throughout WDW Resort.

Last year we were a party of 3 and went the week before Thanksgiving and walked up to the podium at 1900 Park Fare around 5:00 pm and asked if they had any availability and they said they did but it would be about a 30 minute wait. I totally wasn't expecting any availability so we happily said we would wait and only ended up waiting about 15 minutes.

A party of 2 as you are will have fewer problems than larger parties. DH & I winged it in March and did fine, although we usually made an ADR the morning of or night before. (For folks who usually make all ADRs 180 days in advance, that's winging it!)

We had luck with a family of 4 at BOG getting there right at 430
