Keeping kids cool in strollers

I understand the weather is HOT in Sept! I am bringing my own stroller (the big kind, like Graco) because my 1 year old will nap in it. Do any of you do anything to keep your little ones cool in these types of strollers where the padding is thicker than just a reg umbrella stroller?

We normally put a big white towel over the seat..keeps them cool, and if you mist the towel..even better. We also get a fan that can connect side of the stroller..they usually have them at babies r us and places like CVS..they have foam blades.
We also take a ziploc bag and fill it half way with ice before leaving the resort and put a washcloth in there..when you or the baby gets hot take out the washcloth from the icy water, and wipe down the neck, head, hands..etc.

We have a sun shade for our stroller that blocks out the UVA/UVB rays and keeps the inside of the stroller cooler for it; you can still see out of it fairly unobtrusively. In addition, I have 3 portable fans (with soft blades) that blow air in different directions. Besides that, we keep the kiddos in light colored, light weight clothing. If necessarily, they can always be wiped down with a washcloth or take a break in the stores/rides/attractions/baby care center with A/C.

Nope...just regular fans attached to the stroller (with soft blades for safety). And just keep a spray bottle on hand for occasional misting.

We had the mister fans to use when we went in Sept 07.

Our daughter was 3 so she could hold the mister fan herself, but if she was younger, I would bring the misters as well as a clip on fan for the stroller.

It was very hot, but not unbearable. Go into attractions with AC regularly - those breaks really help.

I remember breaking into a sweat while walking from the hotel to the rental car and wondering how anyone managed to hold any sort of a hairstyle in Florida since the humidity would ruin any hair efforts in a few minutes. It was ponytails every day, which helped keep me cooler.

We had one almost like this fan (it was pink/purple) for my neice- we went when she was 10 months old, it worked really well and we cot a lot of comments/compliments on it.

my son 1st trip was at 1 1/2 years old in September 2002 my mother also traveled with us and she gets overheated fast. So we needed to keep them cool.

NO we didn't pay that much for it. I think we got it for $9.99 at walgreens or someplace like that.


We also lugged around our own large carriage (the ones that a seater comes with)

We bought one of those clip on fans too.. but the Mickey one at WDW we have used it every trip and even at home a few times the noise helped put/keep her asleep as well. We also made these and LOVE them!
