Hi,

We are looking to book for 5 days on Sept 27th 09. I have 3 children who will be 11, 8 and almost 2 by then.

I was just wondering if its fairly relaxed and do people tend to keep children out late (9-10pmish) in the Village?
And are you allowed to take kids into the Village bars or hotel bars earlier on, I wont be drinking but DBF will probably try a pint and I just like to see inside these places!

I just want to say that Ive been addicted to these boards for weeks now, everyone is helpful and genuinely nice, Ive been on boards before that have been full of bickering posts so this site is a breath of fresh air !

Thanks in advance x

Glad you like it on here- we're all addicted which is why Im still here at this time of night.

Yes you can take children into the bars and Village - no problem at all. They are all very family orientated

Night time in the disney village is very relaxed. Children are welcome and lots of the bars have outdoor seating anyway. Its nice to have a couple of cocktails after a busy day in the parks. Don't know how late you'll last though cause we were always exhausted and desperate for bed!

Althoughs ours don't last till late every night. They have been known to be in the Disney Store at 1.00am
Well, they are on holiday, if they cant do it then when can they do it? Any time a good time to be in the Disney store:goodvibes .My kids will probably be whacked by 10 but its nice to know we dont have to worry about getting them back to the hotel at a certain time.

Thats great to know, its a typical holiday feel then. Im having lots of late nights stuck to the computer, I love the planning as much as the stay! Last time we went to France I had a whole notebook with little tips and handy info, my family take the mickey (no pun intended!) out of me because of the endless lists I write but I think its good to be clued up to get the best out of your holiday especially with the price of everything now:eek:

Thankyou x

Id like to experience everything I can this time around so I suppose I could be tempted to try a cocktail or two;) We stayed at a campsite an hour away last visit and had 3 day hoppers so the travelling limited the time we stayed at the parks so we only saw everything in daylight. I cant wait to see it all lit up, especially the village as we didnt really see much there, Thankyou x

I know exactly what you mean about the planning, last year i had a note book with tips etc and as we are off again in two weeks my DH is already mocking me for being on these boards and planning stuff! but for me it's so valuable and also makes me really excited!!!! not that i need too much encouragement:banana:

Mine were 8 and 4 last year and we were out until about 9 or 10 ish after lookin and spending in the disney village :goodvibes

There were still many children about then too... just go with whatever your kids are like, if they are hanging or not lol

Every trip we've ever done its usually the grown-ups wanting to go to bed and the kids wanting to stay up late!!:rotfl: You'll be surprised how many little ones you'll see up late both in the park and in the village.

Its soooo addictive, and it definately gets you in the Disney mood! Only 11 months to go LOL!

I probably wouldnt keep mine out later than 10 because I think that would be enough for them all, but the shops will be calling me..I must give myself a limit this year!

That will probably be me! Ill be dead on my feet and they will be jumping around full of beans!

Thanks everyone!!

I love the Village at night, the music, lights, shops, it's just a really nice atmosphere.
We always like to have a drink before bed either in the Village or at the hotel bar, but to be honest by 10.30 I'm flagging and in need of my bed and you just got to make the most of those EMH. :)

I wish mine could stay up later :( DD (5 and a half) gets VERY overtired and grumpy and emotional and we are treading on eggshells the entire holiday. Also we then have to let her sleep in and therefore miss EMH. As for the baby staying up until 11pm on our last night - well we won't even go there <Tinkjon shudders at the memory>

I think you need to let it all out Tinkjon - in a nice long theraputic trip report perhaps :rolleyes1 :rotfl: ???

Our DS would always be up later than us, but would sleep all day if we let him :rotfl: .

We are thinking about going on the evening paris tour, which would mean keeping DS out until after Midnight  , just not sure about that yet, but I guess he could always fall asleep on the bus.

I totally agree about what you said about this board and the people on it. I'm not into getting into these skuffles and heated debates/arguements that I have seen on various forums and just stay right out of it (although I must admit I do like to read them sometimes and often have a laugh thinking, "good grief, these people really do get into it, how can they say those things", but there is none of that on this board, it is really really lovely and it makes it so welcoming and you are not scared to ask a question. I have learnt so much from reading this board and have to admit, I too am rather addicted!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

there were plenty of kids around the village when i was there. when my dd (22 months) fell asleep we just went around the shops with her in the buggy, we even went to have a meal in annettes with her asleep lol.

although on my last night my dd fell asleep and my mom said would we go into the bar for one drink so i said ok, i would only wake her taking her out of the buggy in the hotel anyway. well there was this family sitting next to me with kids around five and three and the three year old fell asleep on his moms lap and the five year old was yawning and crying to go to the hotel and these people would not just put their kids to bed. i couldnt believe it. i felt like taking them back myself poor kids

LOL, DLPDaft!! :rotfl: I will try and do a trip report at some point but DS has developed Clingyitis and it's so hard to get anything done!
