Hi all,
DH has a convention in Orlando last week of June and we are taking our kids, who will be 6 yrs and 5 months:scared1: We are from the Pacific Northwest and am not familiar with how to keep a baby cool in the summer Florida heat & humidity. (FYI: we are definitely doing MK one day, and possibly Epcot, but not AK or DHS.... we are also thinking about the water parks and/or Sea World.) She is exclusively breastfed, so I am imagining nursing a lot... but if anyone can help me on how they avoid heat rash and such with their babies, it would be much appreciated!!!!! Thank you!!

We brought our kids in Aug a few years ago, when my youngest was 9 mos. I bought a clip-on fan to attach to the stroller to keep him cool.

Make sure your stroller has a good hood for shade. Mine provides a good amount of shade, but I also brought a lightweight receiving blanket to drape over the edge of the hood if he needed extra coverage.

Talk to your ped about sunblock for a baby that young. My DS was 5 mos on his first trip, and there were certain kinds my ped recommended for him at that age (sorry, I can't recall what they were).

Have fun! :goodvibes

They have a child center in all the parks. Being in the AC and having the privacy of a nursing room can do wonders. Take a wash cloth from your resort (return it of course) and keep it in a zip lock bag. Whipping down baby with room temp water can help lower temps. I like having an ADR at a TS for like 2pm. It's the hottest and busiest time of day in the parks. You'll be nice and cool in the AC and usually have a not so crowded restaurant. ALSO take a light blanket with you going in and out of the heat and AC can do a number on some people, especially little ones. They can get 'cold' going from one extreme to another.

We bought the clip on fan for our 17 months old granddaughter and then we would spritz her with water if she feel asleep. There are sunblocks for babys, I think that Coppertone makes one with a high sunblock factor.
