Keep or cancel Garden Grill character breakfast - super weird solo??

I have a solo trip coming up very soon (10 days and counting down!) and I am on the fence about one specific ADR: I have a PPO breakfast booked at Garden Grill. I've heard really positive reviews on here and I enjoy character meals occasionally, but would this be SUPER awkward if I'm by myself? I'm a little worried that, because it's family style and you get you own booth, I will feel unwelcome or that it will just be weird.

Keep or cancel?

They do have regular tables at GG besides the booths. If you wanna go, I say go. I did both of the Star Wars character meals when they had them at SWW solo and had fun. All the characters were great (well the Mickey and friends were better than the SW characters at breakfast), and I didn't feel awkward at all. If they handlers are near, they can take your photos for you, unless you wanna do selfies with them all. Sometimes other diners won't mind taking pics either.

The booths are on the bottom tier facing out and the tables are on the upper tier. You will be fine at an upper tier table. We are going in a week and a half and can't wait to eat and PPO Soarin' Have a great time.

I have never been to Garden Grill, but I have done my share of character meals on my own. It is not awkward at all! There is always a cast member or nice person at the next table to take pictures if you want, and no one is paying attention to whether or not you are with someone. Besides, who cares? I never let the fact that I am solo keep me from doing what I want to do.

I'll be at Garden Grill breakfast solo in March, unless there is another solo Dis'er who would like to meet up for that. I do prefer company at meals, especially character meals, but if I end up solo I would still go to any restaurant I like. I've been to Garden Grill meals before, some solo and some not. It's nicer if someone is with you because you can take pictures of each other with the characters, when the character handler is busy with other tables. But have fun anyway! As for whether it is awkward, that mostly depends on whatever attitude you choose to have. If you decide to feel awkward, then you will. If you decide to have fun, then you will.

This is one meal I woudl not hesitate to go solo. Not for one second! Have fun!!!

Thanks all -- to clarify, I'm not worried about being solo at a character meal. I've done it before (most recently at Disneyland Paris, where I TRULY had no one to talk to!) and it was great. It was more the family style serving and the large booths I'd read about that had me feeling a little apprehensive.

Happy to know there are smaller tables and that solo diners are a regular occurrence there :)

My most recent time there, they seated me at a smaller booth. They can scale down the family sized servings to match the number of people. Enjoy your meal there! :goodvibes

Garden Grill is awesome....I would do it solo. Too many old memories of that place through the years.:dog2:pixiedust:

Exactly! A solo trip is what you make of it!
