Iam staying at the All Star Movies in December and was thinking about taking my mother in law. Do I have to pay for an extra adult in the room. It will be 3 adults and 1 child if she goes. Do you think I should tell the front desk when I'm checking in that I have an extra adult or should I keep my mouth shut. What would you do?

I would tell the truth. It's just the right thing to do.

Tell them at check in...that way she will get her own room key so she can do surprise mornings. A lot of times they won't charge you for the extra guest if you add them at check in. :D

I would tell the thruth... and if I could get a 2nd room for a really good price, I would go with 2 rooms since it was going to cost me an extra $25 a night anyway. 2 bathrooms and more privacy. :D

The all stars are $10 per night for an extra adult. I would tell them. I didn't want to pay the $25 for my Mother at CR but ended up calling them to tell them. *sigh* I just didn't want anything to put a damper on my vacation!

Tell them when you check in and not before. We did this at the Poly last October when my 20 y/o DD came with us. The CMs gave her a room key but didn't charge us the extra $25 for her. The CMs seem to be pretty lenient.

I have the same possible situation in early December. I'm staying offsite in a timeshare that my mother ahs arranged, with my 4yo, my sister, and our mother. I'm planning on going a few days early to spend some time with my 4yo before my mom and sister arrive. I have a feeling that they will come a day earlier, and in that case I would have 3 adults in the room, but not for the whole trip.

If they do that, I will wait to tell the front dest until they arrive and will then get the extra keys. I would be honest about it, but hopefully I could avoid the $15/night extra charge (POR).

Really ? Hmmm should I cancel my Mother off my ressie? Then add her when we get there? Anyone have this fee waved at CR?

Do you have an AP? Do you have any discount codes (check Mousesavers)? All-Stars has had some $49 a night offers (+tax) for early December. 2 bathrooms, privacy! & they have "connecting" rooms if you ask (interior door connecting rooms).

You might want to opt for Pop-Century. Pop-Warner Footballers & some young cheerleader-dancers are going to be at All-Stars in early December. We've been-there-done-that, not really where you want to be. Rumor is Pop-Century is not taking overflow from All-Stars for these events. Hopefully that's true!

We added a person at POFQ at check in and they charged us. Which was fine, we were expecting it. I guess it varies from CM to CM.

Thanks for the input everyone!! I think I will tell them at check in. I'm glad you brought up the Pop Warner teams. I found out about a month ago they will be there. How was your experience with them? Be honest. Has anyone else had experience with the Pop Warner crowds. Do they affect the crowds at the parks as well or just at the hotels? Please let me know..

We haven't been there with Pop-Warner; have been with cheerleaders & dancers (foolish us, twice!). Talked at length with CMs at POFQ about Pop-Warner -- in past years Pop-Warner overflowed to POFQ. To put it mildly, CMs were not impressed and strongly advised (off-the-record, of course!) not staying there with the Pop-Warner crowd. Don't know what other posters will say, but our advice -- switch to Pop-Century if you can (also assuming WDW sticks with not overflowing AS resorts to Pop-Century).

You know that is a shame. How are we supposed to know when the Pop Warner teams are going to be there. The CM's should be more understanding. The PW teams should also have better chaperones. I really have my heart set on staying at the ASMo because of the Toy Story theme. My DD loves Toy Story and would be thrilled to stay there. I don't know if its worth putting up with unruly kids.

Not following your comment: "CM's should be more understanding." They are understanding. They told us what I believe to be the truth -- if you can avoid being where the PW group is, do it.
