If you book your reservations far in advance it is always a good idea to keep an eye on what your tickets are currently going for. If the prices have dropped you can usually be issued a voucher for the difference.
I recently booked a flight using frequent flyer miles only to find out later they were offering the same ticket for fewer miles. I called the airline and they are re-instating the difference into my account. I doubt that would have happened if I hadn't noticed.
