We're on the ground at MCO tomorrow at 8:15 am. Just checked Dollar again after weeks of no movement on rates and found the Manager's Special for $85 less than the mid-size we had. It's a bit of a crap shoot but we're sending our luggage via DME so we really don't need a huge vehicle. Keep checking!

BTW, anyone have experience with the Manager's Special? What did you get?

Do you rent your car at MCO and avoid the Magical Express Bus? I only have experience with Alamo because their location inside The Dolphin Hotel has always been the biggest perk.

Every January for the past 6 years we’ve stayed on property and used Disney transportation for a week, then we’d rent a car from Alamo at the Dolphin and drive it down to Palm Beach where we visit family. Then we’d return the car to the airport down there. It has always been very easy and affordable....until this year when Alamo decided to double their price to do exactly the same thing we’ve done for the past 6 years. I’ve been keeping an eye on their prices since June and they haven’t budged. :(

We use Dollar or Alamo, whichever is cheapest. We drive out of MCO in our rental, the bags are in our room by our late afternoon park break. We use Disney transportation but I prefer to drive to Disney Springs and AK, just my preference. I like to have my own wheels handy in case we run out of anything and also to stop at Publix on the way in. We used Tiffany a number of times for the service and the grocery stop but the last number of years we were able to get a rental for 10 days for little more than the Tiffany fee plus tip. BTW, Dollar has a membership, free, that lets you go straight to the garage, just like Alamo. As the title says, keep checking!

Don’t know why I never thought to send our luggage through ME :upsidedow. We can either rent a smaller car or use a smaller town car. We have been going for 2 plus weeks and we ( mostly me) don’t travel light. I only need the car for a quick grocery stop so this will save us a lot. Thanks!!

...Keep checking!...

Good advice! I've had that happen too; one time I found a better deal sitting at the departing airport waiting for my flight. I've seen that kind of thing happen with Dollar, Alamo and Hertz. You never know...
