I hear a lot of talk about keen footwear.... few questions
What style do you have?
Do they look "bulky" on your feet?
Do they give you a lot of support?
Did you need to break them in?
Do you wear socks with them and if you dont...do they smell?

I have the Keen Newport in Black.

I wear a size 9 1/2 women's, and while it doesn't look nearly as cute as my 8 YO DS, I don't think they are too big and bulky.

I wore them 2 days in a row in February at WDW (Epcot and Animal Kingdom).

NO socks for this girl while in FL!!!! :teeth:

I didn't feel like I had to break them in at all.

Between my sister and I, we have tried 13 different styles of Keens: Yogui, Newport H2, Jamestown, Hood River, Montreal, Bronx, Boston and Boston mid, Saratoga, Providence clog, Cortina and Taos. I find I have to wear a sock in my Newport H2's as they rub my feet in places. I didn't have good luck with the Boston or the Boston mid, but my sister loved both styles. She particularly loves the Yoguis. She wears them everywhere. We had to send the Cortinas back as they were very uncomfortable.

They are a bit roomier in the toe than other shoes, so they tend to make your foot look wider than it is.

They have lots of support.

We have found them comfortable right out of the box.

I have not noticed that they get any more smelly than any other shoe.

I love Keen shoes and own 5 pairs in several different styles. They have all been comfortable right out of the box. They do tend to run small in most of the styles; you usually need to buy a half size larger than usual. I usually wear an 8, but wear an 8.5 in Keens except for my Newport H2 sandals, which are size 7.5 and fit me perfectly.

I always wear socks with all my shoes, no matter what brand, except sandals.

They are expensive, but often go on sale at stores and on the internet. I have gotten some great sale prices at rei.com and altrec.com.

I have the Newports in the light green. I LOVE THESE SHOES. DH also has a pair.
At first I thought they looked bulky on my foot, but other people say they don't look bad at all. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them.
I think they give me a ton of support--we wear ours all the time and we do a lot of walking.
I did think they needed a little break in period, they didn't give me blisters or anything like that, but the canvas got better after I wore them a few times.
Oh my gosh, I would never wear socks with them, I think that would look silly.
Mine don't smell at all, and most of my sneakers do!!
I wore mine almost everyday at WDW last summer...no problems at all. :thumbsup2

I'm really on the fence about the Keen flip flop...things. I think they are called Bali...They are very interesting looking...a flip flop with a toe cover...sorta cool. I may try them! Just thought I'd share!! :rotfl:

I just purchased two pair of them . The Newports and the flip flops with the toe guard. I love them both but haven't WDW tested them yet. I will in July though. I doubt I'd wear the flip flop ones to the parks. It's not that they're uncomfortable, it's just I don't think I'd like flip flops in the parks. I got them to wear around town and around the resort at WDW.

I have these (flip flops w/toe guard) and after about a full day they have cut the tops of my feet. They aren't the wrong size, its just the way they rub. I wouldn't suggest wearing them to WDW. They're great for just running around though.

I got the Keen Newports (midnight color) from Zappos. It's a very sporty looking sandal. No break in needed. Very comfy for all day. They fit well, but not enough room for socks, but I wouldn't want socks with them anyway. I like the fact that no one can stomp directly on my toes while waiting in line.

I normally wear 7.5 or 8. I ordered an 8 in the Keens.

Mine do not smell. I've heard of this, but read where you can lay them out in the sun to dry out and the smell goes away. Perhaps people that boat a lot and are in and out of water a lot tend to have the smell problem. Not sure.

I think I'll still take my Nikes so I have two pairs of shoes at Disney.

I bought a pair yesterday! I went to Dicks sporting store and bought a pair of crocs and keens! A little nervous about spending 80bucks for a pair of shoes. I'm hoping they work out well.... i have them on now and they feel great! Great footbed support! I bought the black Venice style in a 9.5 .

I tried on the Newport h2's in a 9.5 and 10. The 9.5 I could'nt get on my foot! The 10 I BARELY got to fit on my foot! How crazy is that. I'm glad I did'nt order online. I like the Venice more on my foot anyway. It looks more like a sandel then the newports.

Wish me luck with my new shoes! I feel like i rarely have good luck with shoes

I've tried on the Newport, Newport H2, & the Venice H2. Still not sure about sizing. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 in a shoe (usually 9), usually a 10 in a running shoe. However, when trying on these sandals, the clerk suggested a 10 1/2 since my big toe of my larger foot was a little close to the end. I'm just worried that they may stretch & be too big, although they felt ok walking around the store. I liked the fit of the Newport (leather) better because it hugged my foot better than the Venice, so it felt more supportive, & the leather felt more comfortable than the nylon of the H2. I really like the bright green color of the Venice H2, but since the Newport doesn't have that color, I am debating between the Mint & the Madder Brown (color would probably go with more things). Any suggestions?

Well yesterday I tested out my keens. I took a short walk and they felt great. I'm just worried about walking all day around WDW and having the back strap rub the wrong way. It may be that i have to break them in a bit. I will bring moleskin just in case.

I would go with the brown because it could be used in more situations. The Mint is great but it much more sporty looking.
