So I've been following the weather, and it appears that Saturday the 27th is supposed to be a washout with rain according to weather.com because of TS Katrina

Its our first full day at WDW and I do not want my kids to be disappointed! Any thoughts or ideas on what we do if its pouring? Is there anything indoors that is good? Movie theatres? Attractions or parks that have indoor stuff?

I've never been so I'm stumped. Our original plan was MK all day Sat, but I hate to waste day on the hopper just to get soaked!!!

TIA

Actually, it might be a great day to do MK. Just wear ponchos. The type of rain we get from tropical storms is usually not the thunderstorm variety. You can just move from attraction to attraction. Maybe the crowds will be lighter because of the rain. If not, there is a huge AMC at The West Side of DTD. There is also Disney Quest.

My children and I weathered Hurricane Frances last year (Labor Day Weekend 2005) at the Boardwalk Villas. All parks were closed Saturday and Sunday. (We actually had a GREAT time those two days!) Anyhow, the MK reopened on Monday with weather elements still present (and CMs at the front gate telling folks there was HOT food available at the Crystal Palace without wait!). We were outnumbered in the park by CMs! I've never seen Dumbo without at wait at 1:00 in the afternoon!

Enjoy yourself. Pack a poncho (it did rain) and 'wet-comfortable' shoes (we traversed many a deep puddle). It was so fun for the children and I to be there!

GO!!!! there is no one in the parks when it is rainy and you get sooooooooo maany more rides on attractions etc. Just wear rain gear, pack sandals that are waterproof and leave a change of clothes in the lockers if you are really concerned. A rainy day at WDW always beats a beautful day anywhere else!!

having been there for hurricane frances i have to say this is the BEST advice! (of course the selfish one in me who wants the entire park to herself says "stay home" but i'll put the selfish one away now and ditto the others... GO!!)

Pack your ponchos and a couple of small travel umbrellas and hit the parks. It may not be as bad as predicted and you will probably have very little wait in any case. I was there last year smack in the middle of Frances and Jeanne. I only had 3 days and it rained everyday. But there was NO ONE in the parks. I actually did almost all of MK in about 3 1/2 hours then went back to ASMo and read a book.
If it is really bad, take the advice from others and make it a DD day. Or give yourself liscense to do something you may not normally do like resort hop, trying a new restaurant, getting a spa treatment, etc. A rainy day may bring about some great adventures!
