:D YES.

I'm going to quebec in may for french. I am SO excited, it's going to be awesome. I'm rooming with my friend and we arent, like, overly chaperoned.

What is quebec like?
Have you ever been there?

I know we have a bunch of activities planned, I'll post what & where they are later.
:goodvibes

SQUUUUEEEE!! THATS MY HOOOOOOME!!!

And I used to live in quebec!!
Are you going to quebec city or montreal??

I've actually never been to quebec city (ehehe some quebecer i am) but I looooove quebec soooo so much! its so beautiful and it's really historic (especially quebec city.....from what i've heard lol) ummm, ya not EVERYONE speaks french, montreal is pretty english-y. but having a good grasp of basic french is a good idea, usually if you attempt to speak french they'll be really helpful & nice to you.

i must hear all about your activities!!!!!

if you DO go to montreal you have to check out Simon's for shopping it's my favourite store, it's like a forever 21/h&m/urban outfitters combined and it's huge and awesome!
wait i dont even think you guy have h&m....so go there too! it's the best store!!!

tell me all about what you're doing and where you're going! i'm so excited for you! haha

Have fun! It sounds awesome, but I've never been to Canada.

Would I make it in Quebec? :rotfl:

And yes, we have H&M here.

Awesome!

I've been to Canada before. It was really beautiful. We went to Quebec and it was amazing there!

You're gonna have so much fun

I was born in Quebec. Montreal to be exact. I moved to Michigan when I was 5. It's beautiful there, and for me to keep vactioning there every year to visit my gram & gramp, show's how nice It is. Make sure you know a good amount of French, because some of the cities there; that's all that the language is sometimes up there. Make sure you bring back pictures, please (:

lol yaaaa you'd probably get along alright, most quebecers know english so if you attempt french they'll probably help you in english.
some of them are a-holes though and won't...but don't let the frenchie a-holes give you a bad impression of canadians!!

seriously though, whenever i go to montreal i BARELY have to use my french because most people speak english (they speak french as well, but mostly communicate in english), quebec city might be another story though, never been there so i don't know.

and i didn't know you guys had h&m there! i've never seen one...then again i always just go to the same mall in buffalo for shopping. hehe

Hey me too! What part?
I was born on the west island in dollard des ormeaux.

I'm going to guess that you're going to Quebec City, but that's just an assumption because all of the schools here go there each year.
If I am right, you're so lucky that you're not really chaperoned. Oh my god, that was the worst trip I took. We were forced to go look at historical stuff like the Plains of Abraham and we went to a church outside of Quebec city. It was kind of awfully boring. The shopping wasn't good either.
Old Quebec IS gorgeous, but I don't remember there being anything to do there but shop.

You should be fine as far as speaking English, most people know it. It's the attempting to talk French thing that MIGHT be a bad idea, because I find that people in Quebec think that their way of speaking french is the only way. If you use a different word than they would, or say it with an obvious accent they might make fun of you.
I still don't know why, but when we were in Gatineau (Quebec city near Ottawa) my brother asked where the wine was in a store and they had no idea what he said. He said it correctly, and my brother is 100% fluent in French. He doesn't have an accent at all, as he learned most of his French from people who lived in Quebec and France.

Anyhoooo, Quebec City isn't like the greatest place for vacation, but it could be educational... if you take interest in French Canadian history.
