Katherine Heigl to play Stephanie Plum

At first I was going to agree, but I don't know if I could see Garner doing some of the scenes. Like the fights and sex scenes. I think of her as 'too sweet' for those.

After seeing her doing the fight stuff in Alias (I know that was a few years ago, but she rocked!) I could see her handling that part. I wonder if she could have pulled of being torn between to very different men.

I'll probably see the movie, but nothing will be as good as the books. You just can't develop characters in 2ish hours that you can in 200+ pages.

As for the fighter - I think they should find some UFC guy to play that. I don't think I want to see someone who acts in a variety of roles in one that is so creepy.

And Tom Hanks will NEVER be Robert Langdon in my mind!

I see Megan Mullaly (Karen from Will & Grace) as Connie. Actually, there's a woman I work with who would make a perfect Connie, but I don't think she'll audition!

I have a clear picture of Stephanie in my mind, but I don't know of an actress who would fit my vision. Definitely not Katherine Hiegl.

Janet Evanovich is such a good author that she backed herself into a corner. She wrote the characters so well that everyone has a precise vision of who should play them. And it's not Katherine Hiegl.

You're right, I had forgotten about Alias. Hmm... maybe she would be a good pick. I think she still looks young enough to play the part.

Betty White would be perfect as plucky Grandma! I can picture her now, saying all of Grandma's one-liners.

No matter what, I think the movies are rarely as good as the books, but it's still possible to enjoy the movies as totally separate things.

I'm a no with heigl as well. I see taller, a bit bigger build and the big hair. I'm more interested in them pulling off Lulu's outfits. Oh and Joe Morelli.....

I hate when they make great books into movies. This is a SERIES...with many books. Are they going to make 15+ movies?? Ugh...I will probably see it but I will gripe about it the whole time!!

Probably not.

First, as I said above, Evanovich sold the rights to this book before it was even published. This one movie doesn't mean the producers have rights to any of the other books.

Second, does anybody remember the V.I. Warshawski movie? With Kathleen Turner? It was based on one of her books, and more or less flopped. It stuck relatively close to the book, which was (obviously) good enough to make a movie from , so the problem may have been the acting or it may have been the script... but no additional movies followed.

Problem is, this movie is obviously being developed by the wrong people. How do I know? Two words: Katherine Heigl.

They're more wrong casting Jason O'Mara than Katherine Heigl... but they finally hit one with Daniel Sunjata. He IS Ranger!

Too bad Ranger plays such a minor supporting role in One for the Money. How much plot do you think these idiot producers and writers are going to steal from later books - books to which they DON'T have the rights?????

I still think that Bobby Canavalle(sp?) would have made a great Morelli. I like this Daniel Sunjata. I've seen him on a lot of Law and Order episodes.

I have no idea who the guy that is playing Morelli is but he is definitely not what I pictured Morelli to look like physically.

Not really buying Kathrine as Stephanie, but a friend and I are currently debating M'nique and Queen Latifa for LuLu. My vote was for QL. Saw her in Just Wright last weekend. I really like her.

Not crazy about Katherine Heigl for Stephanie, but I think Sherri Shepherd from The View would make a great Lula. She was great on Everybody Loves Raymond and Less Than Perfect.

I really like Sherri but I just can't see her playing LuLu. Maybe I just can't see Sherri actually using the word "ho".
