Closing thoughts
I usually stay at moderate resorts when I go to Disney World, so it was a treat to stay at the Polynesian and the Beach Club. Each resort had its own pros and cons. I really loved both resorts, though, especially the Beach Club. I spend so much time at the parks, that I dont think the Deluxe resorts are a good value for me. I didnt really spend all that much time at the resort (and the rain kept me from enjoying the pools as much as I would have liked). I think on my next trip, I may stay at a moderate, and then tack on a couple of nights at the Beach Club but not go to the parks so that I can just enjoy the resort.
Im used to going to Disney World during the off season, so I found the crowds overwhelming at times. I felt like no matter what direction I was looking in, alls I could see was a sea of bodies. The lines were long, and the wait times were often longer than posted. I dont think I would go back to Disney World in mid-August again unless I absolutely had to. We made good use of the Fast Passes, but I still felt like we missed a lot in the parks.
The rain was worse than I expected. I went there fully expecting heavy thunderstorms every day. In the past when Ive gone to Disney in August, the storms would last for an hour or so and then it would be sunny again. At least five or six days during our trip, there were downpours that lasted for between three and six hours, much longer than we expected. The rain definitely slows you down, and tires you.
Jellyrolls was my absolute favorite part of my trip. I had so much fun there two nights in a row. I just adore Scotty and Ray so much. Ive been telling everyone about them, and Jellyrolls is definitely worth checking out on your trip. I know that I will be going back on my next trip to Disney World.
I hope everyone enjoyed my very wordy trip report. Thanks for reading!
