Day 3—Saturday, December 6, 2003
After a solid four hours of sleep, I woke up at 6:30 so that I could be at Disney/MGM Studios for early entry. I had to pack up my things as I was moving to the Boardwalk Inn today. I went and grabbed a coffee cake at the food court for breakfast. It was delicious. It was so tasty. I wished that I had discovered it the day before. It was much better than the French toast I ate the day before.

My luggage was picked up at 7:30, and I made my way to the bus stop to head to Disney/MGM Studios. I quickly made my way into the park, and went directly to the Rock ‘N Roller Coaster. I rode the roller coaster and the Tower of Terror twice each. I really love both of these rides. Since they redid the Tower of Terror, it is probably my second favorite ride in all of Disney World (behind Splash Mountain). I really love the randomized drop sequences and the special effects inside the elevator shaft. It’s really a thrilling ride.

After getting my fill of the Rock ‘N Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror, I headed over to the Great Movie Ride, which is another of my favorite rides. We had the best driver—Terry. He told lots of jokes, and was just a lot of fun to watch. As I left the ride, I saw a manager of the attraction, and I made sure that I told him that Terry was the best driver I had ever had on the Great Movie Ride.
I then went to the Backlot Tour with Catastrophe Canyon. This was my first time on the Backlot Tour since they changed it because of the construction of the new stunt show. It was cold that day, so they didn’t do the complete special effects show on the water tank. I had missed this the last time I saw it as well, so that was a bit disappointing. The tram tour itself was pretty boring now. There just isn’t much left to see without the facades of the houses. The tour was rerouted, and there were chunks of it that were long stretches of roadway that didn’t really have anything to see.

I then went to the 50’s Prime Time Café for lunch. This wound up being the biggest disappointment of my trip. Now, let me tell you that my entire goal in life is to have more fun than anyone else, so I was ready to play along and get into the spirit of the restaurant. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted by a cast member who was just rude to everyone. Now, I know that this restaurant is different than most, but this guy just said things to people that made them feel bad. He asked the couple in front of me why they couldn’t make it there ontime, and when the woman said there was a long line, he replied, “Well, it’s not a 20 minute line.” When I checked in as a party of one, he said to me, “What, couldn’t you get someone to have lunch with you today?” It just bugged me that he had to make a point of giving me a hard time about dining alone, and the tone in his voice made it worse.

When I sat at my table, I had just about the worse waiter around. His name was David, and other than calling me sis once or twice, he had no interaction with me. He was the least attentive waiter I’ve had in a long time. I had to practically jump in front of him to get him to refill my soda or bring me some dressing for my sandwich. I was ready to play along with the theme of the restaurant, but my waiter didn’t really seem interested in going along with the theme (he didn’t even seem to be interacting with the other tables.

After lunch, I called home to see how my folks and sisters were doing in the snow storm that was bombarding the city of Boston. I complained to them about how it was only 50 degrees that day, and I was wearing jeans and a jacket. Somehow, they didn’t have sympathy for me.

I walked to the Boardwalk and checked in. Along the way, I ran into JerseyDizDreamer, who got stranded in Florida an extra couple of days because of the snow. I got all checked in, but my room wasn’t ready, so I headed over to the Dolphin for the Mega Mouse Meet.

After signing in at the meet, having my picture taken, and getting my goodie bag, and saw Ray Sharpton there in his lime green Dis shirt welcoming everyone to the meet. It was nice to meet Ray, who was also part of the group I would be going to dinner and the Candlelight Processional with later in the evening.

The Mega Mouse Meet was a lot of fun. It was great to see Disers in the light instead of outside at night or in a dark bar. I was a bit tired, so I spent quite a bit of time leaning against a post relaxing. I enjoyed walking around and mingling with all of the Disers, authors, webmasters, and other folks at the meet.

Around 2:30, I walked back to the Boardwalk Inn to see if my room was ready yet, and it was. I was in room 3222. It overlooked the Garden Suites and the quiet pool. I also had a view of the tops of some of the buildings of the World Showcase. My room was great, but I thought the décor was a bit blah. I wasn’t overly impressed with the Boardwalk—it was a bit too stuffy for my tastes, but at least it would be an easy trip home from Jellyrolls at night.

After getting settled in my room, I walked to Epcot. My first stop was the Leave A Legacy booth to find out the location of the tiles that I had left in August and my brother and his wife had left in May. I got a little confused finding it, but I finally did.

I then road on Spaceship Earth and Mission Space. I still think that Mission Space is a weak ride. I just was expecting it to be a lot more thrilling then it actually is.

I then made my way to Japan to meet ScottWDW and his wife and daughter, Dan Murphy, Ray Sharpton, Towncrier, and Helenabear for dinner and the Candlelight Processional. We had an entire grill at Teppanyaki. The food was fantastic. I got chicken and steak combo. The chicken was a bit dry, but the steak was awesome. It was a lot of fun watching the chef make our food. The highlight of the evening was the company at the dinner table.

After dinner, we got in line for the Candlelight Processional. I stepped out of the room to listen to the Japanese Holiday Storyteller tell us about the darma. The woman was wonderful, and the story was great. I really enjoyed watching the Holiday Storytellers.

We then went into the Candlelight Processional. Rita Moreno was the narrator that night, and she was fantastic. I really love this show. It’s one of the most moving things I have ever seen. It always gives me the chills. The most wonderful intrepreter was signing the show. She was just so expressive, and seemed to be having a great time. I enjoyed watching her more than watching Rita or the choir.

After the Candlelight Processional, I made my way back to the Boardwalk and headed to Jellyrolls. Another Dis meet was scheduled, and I didn’t think anyone was going to be there, but I decided to go just in case. No one met me at Jellyrolls, so I walked in myself around 10:15. I thought I saw NancyIL there, but I wasn’t sure it was here, so I didn’t say anything to her. I ran into Nancy the next day, and found out it was here that I had seen that night. Next time, if I think I see a Diser, I will say hello.

I stayed at Jellyrolls until midnight. I decided to make it an early night, as I knew I had a big day planned for Sunday, including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and another trip to Jellyrolls to see my beloved Scotty and Ray.

Sorry about the Prime Time, at least dinner was a blast. Thanks for posting, can't wait to read the rest.

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.

How the heck did I end up missing you too? I walked in around 10:15, and stayed until about midnight. I would have stayed later if I had seen others there. I just stood in the back that night.

I thought I might have seen you at one point but I wasn't sure. We had a table in the back - you could have sat with us. My fault for not wearing my dis tshirt that night.
