yay or nay?

I have never done karaoke in a bar or anyone else. It seems like everyone I know has done it. Just not me.
You?

eta: pardon the KAAOKE spelling  cant edit polls.

A few of my girlfriends and I got up and did "Love Shack". Of course we were drinking.:lmao: I don't believe I would have the courage to do it by myself.

I can hit the notes if someone else is singing the notes but otherwise the wife is the talent of the family with singing and piano.

Yes, when at university we would do it nearly every week. I remember one week our music tutor joined us (amazing pianist and composer but can't sing!). He was told not to give up his day job!! We pointed out he was our music tutor much to all our amusement!!

If you are not that good, just drink some more beer.

I know for a fact that beer makes me a better karaoke singer.

I love karaoke!!! Too bad my friends don't love it as much as me or I would be doing karaoke every weekend.

Karaoke helped put me through college:cool1: Nothing like a group of girls willing to sing suggestives songs for a bunch of drunk guys to win a contest. We would do this about 2x a month and split the prize money.

I haven't sang karaoke in a bar or any other place in years now though. I don't think I would remember how.

Yes, not just at any old bar but usually at an event.

My banker Daydream Believer by the Monkies.

I have an "other"!!!!

Karaoke makes me run away. I won't even go near a place that has it. :scared1:

I've done it and actually won a couple of karoke contests...the last one being last May in NC in front of some of my co-workers...won it with Achy Breaky Heart and up until then had only heard part of the song once...and yes alcohol was involved:lmao:

just once and I was VERY lit. otherwise I wouldnt have dont it.

Recently did this at the middle school dance that I had to chaperone w/some fellow teachers. One of the teachers brought in her karaoke machine for everyone to use. We signed students up and some of the 6, 7 & 8th grade girls signed up two of my co-workers and me to sing "Stop! In the Name of Love" and it was hysterical!! The kids loved it that the teachers were up there making fools out of themselves!

Then, to mix things up, the teacher running the karaoke machine put in "Summer Lovin'" (from Grease) and had the boys do the boys part and the girls do the girls part. It was v. cute and we were all laughing and having a great time w/it!

If I were anywhere else (ie: bar, etc.), I would never, ever do it. But I'd do it for the kids!

I did it once at the mall with my best friend. They just had the machine sitting in the middle out in the open. We sang, "I Think I love You" by the Partridge Family and "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. Nobody ran screaming for the hills so I guess we did okay. When we were done we saw a girl we had gone to school with. Now that was embarrassing.

I've done it, always sober too! And, I'm very much an introvert. But I know I have a good voice too (used to belong to a singing group in HS that won a lot of titles at state).

Love it. I don't do it every week, but then I don't drink and the only place that has it is a bar, so...
