My boys will be 3 & 5 when we visit, and I was wondering if they could ride the rapids even if there is a height requirement that they don't reach?? I thought I read somewhere about special seats for smaller kids?

My little girl was 4 years old when she rode the rapids and she is kinda small for her age. As we entered she was given a wrist band and then placed on a special seat. She had such a great time - unfortunatley she seemed to bear the brunt of the rapids and was like a wet rag when she came off!!! But she couldn't wait to go again. :thumbsup2

My daughters are 4 and 6 and both are small for their age. Both went on this past May. They put a wrostband on my little one and when she got up to the CM seating us in the raft, he put her in a special seat. Each raft has one special seat and an adult must sit next to them. They had a ball and got very wet!!! There is a compartment in the center of the raft to put your personal items. It keeps them from getting wet.

I have a photo of her just after KAli but i cant seem to find out how to post it.

When I rode it on Saturday, there was 3 smaller kids aboard the same raft we were on and all were thrilled and enjoyed the attraction. :cool1:

OK, from my understanding, and someone will probably know for certain and either correct me or agree. . ..

there is a 38" height requirement, period.
But there is another height indicator (don't know it's height) that if the child does not reach they get to sit in the "captain's seat" (at least that's what all the CM's that measured my son called it), they get a wrist band that lets the people boarding the boats know to put them in that seat (there is one per raft if I remember correctly).
The seat is like the others except there is a bar to kinda keep them in place.

At least that is the best I can remember it. . . .Disney's site says the height restriction is 38" and my son was definitly that but was put in the seat. I kinda remember the second height indicator, but we were truly in a hurry to just get to the ride. :)
