Kali River Rapids for almost 3yo?

My 3 year old dd would only go on if she was allowed to wear her rain poncho. (She had a very bad experience on the raft ride at Hershey Park). So on went the poncho (my husband thought I was being a little weird...) and she had such a great time that she did it again!

I've been on the raft ride at Hershey Park. You might as well have thrown us in a lake fully clothed, lol. On most raft rides there's a chance you might be on the side under the waterfall. On Hershey Park's raft ride everyone goes under the waterfalls. :teeth:

We saw the WDW special on the Travel Channel the other day and when DS saw Kali River Rapids, he was so excited and said he wanted to ride it. He was so funny, he wanted to know why we didn't go on the ride when we went to WDW last June.

When we go in December, he will be almost 3 (turns 3 in January) and hopefully he'll meet the 38" height requirement by then (he's 37.5" right now). But just because he will be tall enough, will he really be ready? Of course he might not grow between now and then so it might not matter LOL.

Can anyone share toddler experiences on this ride?

Thanks!

The ride is fun but TOO mild, IMO. I'd take him on it. My toddler will go on it next year (too short this go-round). I know he'll love it! :Pinkbounc

At our local amusement park, there is a Kali type ride called Raging Rapids. The height requirement is only 36" so DD was able to go on it this summer.

She was pretty ticked she couldn't go on Kali. She turned 3 yo during our trip last week and wanted to go on it so bad. Kali is pretty tame compared to the Raging Rapids ride at our local amusement park.

It was difficult to explain to her why she could go on one ride and not the other when they looked exactly the same to her.

Ah, Kennywood!! :teeth: We were planning to take DD on raging rapids this year, and she was begging to go on when she saw it. The day we were at Kennywood it was just too chilly though, there was no way I was getting soaked and freezing all day. (We didn't manage to make it there until the bonus weekends in September.)

As a young 3 yo, dd absolutlely loved the ride. She and darling dad were the ones that got absolutely soaked. She did not enjoy going through the rest of the day dripping wet. I would strongly suggest a change of clothes. But with that in tow I would recommend to go.
