I am pretty sure ds will meet the height requirement for Kali River Rapids. He will be turning three that week. Is it safe for him on this ride? Is it really rough? I think my older son will want to do it.

We just went and DS4 about 39 inches made it. He saw dad go on it first then he wanted to go so we went on together with dad. He was so proud that he was tall enough to go, they gave him a yellow bracelet so they would know he was tall enough. He had to sit in a seat where they have a lap bar and I sat next to him. I didn't think it was too rough for him. I did keep my arm in front of him to support him. Anyways he loved it. He got soaked too.

Boy, you have a tall just turned three year old!

If he meets the height requirement, its up to you. We have ridden one height requirement ride with our 4 and 5 year old (Body Wars) but that is for a whole lot of reasons (my husband doesn't like thrill rides, my kids were happy with the rides they were on, I'm in no hurry to have them grow up, we were traveling with Grandma, my daughter was just 40 inches and had suffered a mild concussion the day before we left and had instructions to take it easy for the first few days).

I haven't riden Kali, but have been on similar rides at other parks and can't imagine Kali being much rougher. But it is VERY WET. If your three year old doesn't like water dumped on his head (mine didn't at that age), avoid the ride. If it is chilly out, avoid the ride.

We have a very similar ride at our local amusement park. They call them just river rapids. (the only difference is Kali has a theme to it) My DS who turned 3 in July LOVES this ride. There were times that the park was dead and we were able to ride 10-15 times in a row. The ride is not too rough. Their height requirment is very low 36 or 38" I believe. DS is tall enough now to ride most of the other rides now. (40")
Have a great time

Our son also rode at 3 and had the special lap bar seat. There is only 1 per boat so your child will be loaded first. Our son got DRENCHED on this ride but loved it!!

Our 3 year old (3 years, 3 months to be exact) LOVED this ride. He sat in the special belt mentioned above. He LOVED seeing his mom, dad, aunt and grandma get SOAKED. He rode it 3X. And by the way, he was too scared to do Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Honey I shrunk the kids, Bugs Life, and similar rides -- not the super adventurous type if you know what I mean!!

The height requirement for Kali is just 38 inches so there are many little ones that do meet this and get to ride! Our just turned three year old also met the requirement (39 inches). I had assumed the requirement was over 40 inches and was so surprised to see the 38 inches. You do potentially get really wet so as long as your 3 yo doesn't mind that they should have a ball.

DD rode when she was 3 1/2 and loved it. I think that it was very safe.
