Does anyone know if there are lockers close to Kali Rapids. I hate to walk all the way to the front to put my camera in a locker to ride one ride.

There is a compartment in the center of each raft. Also, you could just put it in a zip-lock bag.

It's funny how the simplistic things evade me sometimes. It is a DSLR, but I've seen some pretty large ziplock in the store that might work. Thanks!

Dollar Tree has really large plastic bags that are thick and seal well. They are great. I've put our very expensive video camera in one in the center of that raft and it's dry as can be. Also, you can put a camera in these thicker bags and use it. It wont' be the best photos you've ever taken, but they are passable and can make for some hilarious photos of people getting soaked. And your camera stays dry.

Yep! There are now lockers across from the Kali FP machines. They are free for the first 2 hrs. Used one on Tuesday, worked great.

Sooooo glad I checked this thread, lol. We love Kali but hate to walk around soaked afterwards. Last trip and this upcoming trip we have ADR's at Rainforest for dinner & last trip we were still kinda wet, lol. Thinking maybe now we can bring a change of clothes and hit the nearest restroom!

How does that work for the first two hours?

They are computerized. There is a terminal similar to an ATM with a computer screen. If I remember correctly, you swipe a debit or credit card and it tells you to enter a combination for the locker. Then it tells you which locker to open. After your 2 hours are up, it charges your card. (If I'm wrong, someone correct me!)

I believe you can also swipe your room key. To the poster who wanted to bring a change of clothes - just wear ponchos! We buy the $1 ponchos in the camping section of Walmart and use them on Kali - then we toss them at the end of our trip.

How big is the center "dry" area? We will have one regular sized backpack for the 4 of us. Will there be room if all the other passengers also have bags?

It should be big enough depending on what everyone else puts in there. Can't tell you the size - I'm terrible at things like that, but it really is big enough to fit most everyone's stuff, including backpacks, etc...

There's a pic about a quarter of the way down the page here:

We put our backpack in - the dry area closes with velcro but in my experience it still gets wet, especially if all the passengers put stuff in the and it doesn't close completely. I would put a backpack in the lockers at the entrance to Kali.

I totally missed the lockers somehow. That's a nice touch though.

A poncho never does me any good on that ride. The water always ends up flooding under my butt.

A few years ago I took a clear plastic bag from our hotel room and put the camera in it. I shot through the bag and got some of my best shots of the trip. Couldn't even tell it was in a bag.

The bag is a great idea, but I think we will try a waterproof disposable. We went and my oldest daughter got off after one trip and a little wet. My youngest daughter me and wife stayed on the same boat for nearly 5 times in a row. Yes we were soaked to the point that nothing was dry. Great time though! Unforgettable memories!

Since this question was first asked they have added short term lockers at the ride.
