Looking to do Kalahari over Labor Day weekend ( Fri - Tues )
Getting a room for 8 with a kitchen

How do the water park passes work? Would it be possible for some of the people staying in the room to not use their passes and to give them to some one else to use? For example can person A go to the water park on Friday and give person B the pass allotted to them for Saturday to use on Saturday. Or alternatively could person B uses A's Saturday pass on Friday? Note person B is local and not staying the night so no room occupancy issues, a day pass is $55 so I know that is an option, just wanted to see if there were any others

What else should I know about Kalahari? Looking for any tips or advice

Thanks!
Eta: Anyone have experience with service animals specifically a seeing eye dog, are there restrictions related to the water park?

Haven't been to the Sandusky one but the one near us uses wristbands and you would just get 8 of them for each day. So yes, you would be able to switch who uses them on different days. Also ours allows you to purchase additional ones at a day rate.

Just re-read your post and saw your day rate - that's steep!
Locals here have a special local rate for the day pass. If you end up needing it, look into that - I think it's $35

We were there last year for a dance competition. The wristbands were those plastic wristbands that snap-lock closed. We had 4 people in our room and they gave us 4 bands. We had to go back several times (not daily, but close) to get different colored bands because they change the color throughout the week.

I don't think they'd have any way of knowing whether the bands were on the actual individuals registered to the room. However, once they're on (sized), it would be difficult to switch them from one person to another. (We did manage to size my daughter's so she could get it on off since she wasn't allowed to wear it on stage. If Person A and Person B are close to the same size, you might be able to make it work... but I don't think you it would work if Person A is an adult and Person B is a child, just because their wrists would be different sizes.) Also, everyone who goes into the waterpark area has to wear a band whether you're planning to get into the water or just supervising the kids.

They do use wristbands and you get a set number per day per room, so yes, you could use them for other people and nobody would know (or care).

Check to see if they have packages available that include the outside adventure park. Labor Day weekend would be the last weekend it's open and it's a really nice park - ropes course, zipline, etc. Worth a look and something to mix up the day aside from all the waterslides.

My only tip in general would be to head outside the resort for food - restaurants in Kalahari are really overpriced and not very good.

The adventure park did look cool, I think a few people in are group are adding it on ($30), the discount we got did not include it

As for food, we will also have a kitchen so easy for cheap meals

I forgot you mentioned the kitchen - there's a grocery store (Meijer's) next door, so it's really convenient. :)

Thanks, we aren't planning on reassigning wristbands in the middle of the day, think of it this way, mom, dad and kid go day 1, day 2 dad stays in room and mom, aunt, and kid go day 2, which should be fine according to what I'm reading.

Yes. That would probably be fine as long as dad can get his wristband off without cutting it. You might even get lucky if they change band colors between day 1 and day 2. Then you'd have a new wristband.

They changed the colors often, but not *every* day. We were there for a week (dance competition) and I think there were two times when the bands were good for 2 days in a row. The other times, the color changed daily and we needed new bands. The annoying thing was that you had to stand in line at the registration desk to get your new bands every time they changed. I think they should have delivered them via housekeeping or something to already-checked-in guests.

Thanks, turns out the 'aunt' might just get her own room.
