Kaki Gori no longer a snack credit

The DDP symbol was removed and the price raised to just over $3. I asked and was told it is not a snack option any longer. I did pay OOP for it since it is DD's favorite. Only thing available there now is bottleed water and soft drinks for a snack credit.

Basically a snow cone in flavors like Tangerine, Honey Dew Melon, etc.

I think Disney made a good choice ! There is more profit in soda or filtered water than frozen ice with food coloring in an expensive paper cup

No cost to Disney either way, it is one of the independent areas at Epcot (Japan Pavillion) that can choose to participate or not.

Kaki Gori - what is this?

Kaki Gori is better than just a snow cone. It's more like the shaved ice you can get in Hawaii - so perfect on a hot day! In December I won't miss it, but guess we'll have to pay OOP in warm weather, it really hits the spot.

I believe Disney would have to pay them something if they elected to accept DDP. The actual restaurants in Japan do accept DDP. However, since the food service areas in the Japan pavilion are not operated by Disney, they may choose to accept or not accept dining credits, and the status of snacks can change anytime.

Even Disney-operated food service areas have been known to discontinue DDP snacks without notice (like the make your own treats at Goofy's or the ice cream sandwiches in Dinoland)

Oh, of course they would be reimbursed something, but I meant that it didn't affect Disney's profit margain one way or the other. Like if I chose a fountain drink from a Disney owned QS as a snack, Disney would stand to profit the greatest from such a poor choice on my part.

There have been a few posts over the course of the year of people who could not get it as a snack credit. Perhaps they moved the DDP symbol, but some CMs have been allowing it, hence the random experiences with this.

Kaki Gori was available as a snack credit 3 days ago...so go ahead and try to use a snack credit, it can't hurt to try!
