Hi

Does anyone else agree that the Kaiser Chiefs are just brilliant?

I used to love all this music when I was about 16-20 ish, but then went onto more pop type music for a while, but now I am starting to really enjoy this kind of music again.

I got their album last week and haven't stopped listening to it.

I know trying desparately to get hold of some tickets for their concert at Alexandra Palace on 22nd April.

Does anyone know anyone who has any to sell?

I wanna go and bounce around to 'I predict a riot!'.
They are fan dabby dosy.

I agree, bought my son the cd last year and it hasn't been out of the car since! reminds me of early Clash  LOVE IT!!!

Not heard the album - too busy listening to Gorillaz, Coldplay and the excellent Killers (their album Hot Fuss is fantastic).

Hi Karen, DH, DDs and me have got tickets for 21st April. They sold out so fast. We got pre-sale tickets as my DD had signed up for KCs mailing list.

Good luck in trying to get some tickets

Jan

I bought Dp the cd last week. He loves them :thumbsup2 I'm not really a fan.

Good luck for the tickets :goodvibes

I agree Karen, they do remind me of bands from the late 70's early 80's, they are a very entertaining band and I enjoyed them on the Brits. My DD has both the Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers CD's and raves about them :)

I agree whole heartedly with all that has been said in this thread. Currently there are a crop of excellent bands writing and producing fantastic music. As well as those listed by Johnny + Kaiser Chiefs, I have recently bought the Hard-Fi album, and this is EXCELLENT also.

I also feel that Coldplay are superb, I do not subscribe to the "now they are popular we must hate them" mindest

I have fallen for the excellent voice and songwriting talent of Jack Johnson, puts James Blunt (Yawn) to shame.

Ebay for the tickets, it seems to be the best chance of going to the Plymouth gig. You will pay more than list price, but I would imagine that you always will "second hand".

I bought the album last week and agree that it is fab!!

Also got Artic Monkeys on recommendation from my sister and it is also really good.

I about time that they were some good rock music about! I usually just listened to bands such as greenday, foo fighters, aerosmith who have been around a while now so its nice to have some new bands to explore.

Ebay tickets are going for silly money.
A pair went the other day for £145!!!
They only £42 for the pair normally.

I can't afford to pay that much.
I think I am going to have to wait until they announce another tour.

going to get Cd this weekend as
really do like everything Ive Heard so far :sunny:

oooh! Arctic monkeys, like them too, also like Gorillaz, Killers and love the new oasis album.
just thinking about a comment in Ades (kernow clan) post, saying about how people decide not to like a band once they get really popular i.e. Coldplay.
Are there any bands that you really cannot stand?
I really dislike (even though they are considered 'greats' and so therefore I'm wrong, the rest of the world is right!) Queen, James Blunt, the aforementioned Coldplay (but I do like their instrumental versions I guess its just Chris Martins voice I don't like :confused3 ) oh, and I really do not like Nirvana

......LOVE the Kaiser Chiefs!!

I heard my sons playing their music a while ago now, and immediately bought Employment, and played it over and over again :)

I can't stand oasis..James Blunt...I can listen to coldplay however I would not buy the music or anything, I am not to keen on the style of music.

Kaiser Chiefs - Fab or what?!

Sorry, but I'm going to be the first one to come down on the 'or what?' side of the fence. Can't stand them or anything that sounds like them! Again, sorry, but you did ask!!

Nah, that's ok, everyone can have their own oppinion.
I just wanted to see what the general feeling was.

I think that they are great. We are going to see them at the NIA in April. We are also going to see Hard Fi in May and the Chili Peppers in July who ate playing at Pride Park so not far to go for us :)
I agree that there are some great bands around at the moment. I also think Arctic Monkeys are great but DH not a fan.
One band we would love to see are the Killers. They were the support act when we went to see U2 in Cardiff last year - superb. Also Ian Brown.
