Hi all... Just returned from our 10 day trip and want to do a quick review of our experiences... which over all were wonderful thanks to these boards!!!
It was myself (mom 43yrs old) and dd (18yrs).... we are both adventerous eaters...
TS MEALS:
The best: Boma ( dinner), Tusker House and Ohana (dinner).
It was our 1st time to Tusker House, lunch, and food was really good, fresh, hot. Character interaction some the best I have ever experienced. It was my 1st time at Ohana and my only complaint was the SPEED of the food... I knew this going in and tried to slow it down but just couldnt...service awesome.
The pretty good: These are in no particular order... 50s Primetime, Biergarten, San Angel, CRT (better than I expected- I had the lobster crepes and dd had the filet mignon and frittata), Cape May dinner, Beaches and Cream. Services very good at Cape May and CRT.
The ok: crystal palace breakfast--- we always go to this, every single trip... this time is a so so. After an hour we had only seen 2 characters and decided to leave. Could have been just a fluke... Service was slow...
The bad: we did Mama Melrose fantasmic package. From the appetizer of calamari to our meals (seafood ciopanno and my dd had the steak) it was ick. VERY SALTY... The desserts were the best part....
CS:
The best: Earl of Sandwich, Make your own Pasta at POR resort, sunshine seasons, and a turkey sandwich we shared in Norway.
The just ok: Carne Tacos at La Cantina in Epcot.
MISC:
Coffee: Iced coffee in DHS at the Writers Stop, very good. Unsweetened and half/half available (no 1/2 1/2 available for coffee at the boardwalk bakery). Also found unsweetened iced coffee in WS at Epcot and near MIsson Space. In the Magic Kingdom couldn't find unsweetened iced coffee... was pre-mixed and flavored/sweet.
AWESOME SNACKS: carrot cake cookie at DHS/writers stop. Waffle in MK with nutella and fruit. Magic Cookie Bar (from POR) -some know it as a 7 layer bar.
Overall we ate well
but walked it off (and sweated some of it too...).....
